Of all the IP'S in the philippines ,Ygorote, they're the only katutubo who has produced many professionals as Doctors, Catholic bishops, succesful pastors like Quiboly or Felix ,professors, suma cumlaudeas (top 10 board passers)and mostly an allegedly future astronauts.

Excellent. Looking forward to the next interview with the professor, the common Austronesian origin of the Cordillerans--and, for that matter, the rest of the Filipinos--should be very interesting. I have one quibble with the professor though. Why still call those who live in the Cordillera "Igorots"? I get it that he uses the term "Igorots" to refer to Cordillerans for brevity and convenience (and because the term is the vlog's topic). Still, there's too much richness in languages and cultures in the region to lump the many ethnoliguistic groups together in a catch-all term, "Igorot." We don't do that with the different groups in Central Luzon, for instance. I think we should move away from generic terms such as "Igorot," especially if they are rooted in derogation in the past.

Hi! Thank you very much for watching and knowing more.. :) Regarding the use of "Igorot", it has evolved positively over the decades amongst the Cordillerans. We proudly call ourselves "Igorot", not for what the Spaniards attached to the term but because of it's heritage in general. However, some parts of the Cordillera are still keen in calling them in their specific tribe. Again, not because of the derogatory meaning but because of the "ethnolinguistic diversity". Hence, it's safer to just call us as Cordillerans. :)
