I am looking at the hull and it appears to be shaped to modestly deflect sound waves in a similar manner to stealth aircraft and stealth ships against radar.

The Canadian procurement process is SO floored that avoidance would be smart. They have an obsession for packing far to much equipment in to a given product, be it sub surface, surface, terrain equipment or even aircraft in the misguided belief that everything can be multirole, it can't.

Where is #Damen?? Us Dutch develop 50% of this sub..That replaces the Walrus klasse..

The A26 is being built now for Sweden and I have no knowledge about Damen being involved at all. Another version offered for the Netherlands will have Damen involved though.

@@jimmywitlock8761 Swedish defense industry has been bought by American and British corporations. "Swedish" is a flag of convenience (or rather marketing) at this point. "Swedish" weapon systems are just a collection of parts from all over US empire at this point. As you can tell from this video, "Sweden" has already given away their secrets to USN. Helping another power hone their weapon systems to circumvent your most capable submarine, that is not something a sovereign state would do.

Damen was only involved to pretend the Saab sub is Dutch. They have nothing to offer to Saab Kochums.

Who says it is quietest? What support to they have for that? India told china exactly where their diesel subs were in Indian ocean. The chinese use a stirling engine that is modified is reckoned to be quiet. They have even stalked USA carriers successfully. Important I am not claiming to know which engines the chinese used in indian ocean or even if the boats in question did have stirling engines. India did it to prove that they can out their subs.

Trust me when I say Chinese subs have never successfully stalked a US carrier group, not even close. The Chinese only VERY recently are cutting down on noise but they are EXTREMELY easy to track and hear, I would know I’ve done it 😉

You refer to China because they have some first-generation "AIP" sterling engines. Swedish submarines have a long experience with Stirling engines and install 5th generation in the A26 class. Secondly, the USA and the Gotland class submarine have already proved Saab's expertise in this area. Thus some weight is behind the words "stealthiest," not just marketing, but some hype is likely added to enhance future export orders. Cheers.

why would the US choose the Swedish Sub instead of a NATO member like Japan or Germany if it was not the HARDEST TO DETECT

A Gotland sub indeed “sank” a U.S. carrier in games. A diesel electric sub is near dead quiet when using electric propulsion. As long as it uses an advanced propeller or pump jet, it’s very hard to detect. The Gotland is quieter than any nuclear sub when in stealth mode.

Andrew Lambert, claims isn't the same as proofs, this sub has proven it has capability the one you claims has not.
