My 35 year old son bought his Catrike MAX eCat last November and has been very pleased with it's performance. I have been riding recumbent trikes for the past nine years and did research on the MAX before my son purchased his. He is 6'2" and 270 lbs... The larger seat and frame fits him quite well. The stand up assist bars are a big plus!

I just purchased the Catrike Max in the EON Green with the eCat motor and it is awesome, I love it. Highly recommend it is the best trike I have ever owned.

picked up my Max June 2023, it has proven to be a wise investment as it enables me to get exercise and go distances my old knees no longer want to go.

The Schwalbe Marathon Racer and the Schwalbe Big Apple both have identical thorn resistant layers between the ground and the tube, so both tires are equally resistant to puncture ... but indeed, the Big Apple is the more comfortable of the two. The Racer allows for less ground resistance and more ultimate speed (if that's what a rider seeks), however, for those riders who seek comfort over speed, the Big Apples are the way to go. Both tires are rated a "4" on the "Schwalbe Protection" scale of 1-7 (the Schwalbe Marathon Plus is rated a "7", for example, meaning the best protection from flats possible in their tire line). steve

Big Apple Plus and Big Ben Plus are rated at six, while the regular Big Apple and Big Ben are at four. I’m not sure yet whether to go with the plus version, or put in a tire liner, but the Racers are at least easy to change tubes when I get flats. I have worn the tread off though

@@kenmcclow8963 Based on my triking experience since 2009, I would most definitely go with the PLUS version due to the increased puncture resistance. I have run Schwalbe Marathon PLUS tires on my road tours, and have never had a flat, despite riding through every sharp thing imaginable during that time. Going with the Racers because they are easier to change tubes if flattened is eclipsed by not having the flat in the first place (which is what the PLUS tires offer). Additionally, my experience with tire liners is not that great, having used Mr. Tuffy in my fat tire trike tires, and three tires flatted during a two day period of riding off-road in the Mojave Desert of southern California (I had to go to a tubeless setup with Stan's NO-Flat liquid inside to stop the flats). steve

I wanted to like the Catrike Max but I didn't. It is a great trike and it has some nice "extras" that actually come stock. I and I like the that they are made in USA. Different strokes for different folks. It is definitely worth a look.

It's all about personal preference - that's why there's so many models and customizations out there!
