Why Embraer thrives anywhere in the world but in the US? Maybe because they create clause restrictions that affects only Brazilian airplanes… Or maybe they don’t like more efficient airplanes for regional connections… I mean, that sounds pretty much the dichotomous sight of US: They can only see threats or dominance opportunities.

It doesn't only effect Brazilian planes, de fuck are you talking about? The question is why did Embraer not consider the scope classes when designing their jet. Answer, because they wanted to play with the big boys. Well, that what you get, now you are competing against Airbus. They simply designed the wrong product, nothing to do with much else.

As I answered our coleague, I think both E1 or E2 are the same aircraft and the improvements was not an intention to play against the big, Big, BIG, BIIIIG Ones 😁 , since these aircrafts remained Narrow Body type. What happend, instead of a miscalculation from engineering crew (Both E1 and E2 has the same weight), is the difference of the new Pratt-Whitney Engines of E2, that is heavier (they are way more powerfull) than the prior GE from E1 series. . But nothing that avoids Embraer to send for U.S.A. the New modern 175 E2 with their plus gadgets for passengers, new designed wings, new avitronics and Control Panel, an added 3rd Fuel Tank for all E-2 Series but... using the older (and less efficient) GE Engine. Sadly the older engine is not as much fuel saving as the newer one... . Doing this Embraer keeps respecting the U.S. Scoupe Clauses, since both aircraft versions weights the same... They might send U.S. the New Version, but using the older Engine. No harm at all... 👍👍

@rafaelwilks

1:28 yeah, it's definitely stopping the show, and not in a good way - the GTF has proven itself to be the worst engine in service today. The E-Jet E2 is an awesome airframe - it's Achilles' Heel is its engines. If GE provided new-generation engines for the E2 based on their NG34 program, it would definitely have been more reliable, and most likely at least a bit more efficient, too - the PW1900G manages only an 11% fuel efficiency improvement over the CF34-10E at best, whereas the GE NG34 was designed for at least 15% fuel efficiency improvement over the CF34 in general. The reason that didn't happen is because, according to GE, they couldn't make a business case for supplying engines for the E2. As it turns out, considering that there are less than 300 orders for the E2, compared with over a thousand deliveries of the original E-Jet, GE might have estimated correctly, from a financial viewpoint. That being said, it would have been wonderful to have E2 jets with superior GE power. 4:22 it's superior engines 🤣🤣🤣 sure, they're superior in terms of fuel burn, and that's it - they're inferior in terms of dependability, durability, and reliability, which are more important than efficiency (though of course Embraer could have its cake and eat it too, if it had GE engines that would be both more efficient than the GTF and more reliable). These heavier and inferior engines, along with the additional material needed for the longer fuselage, effectively prevent the E175-E2 from ever getting any orders, which has turned out to be a good thing, because, again, those heavier engines also happen to have been causing lots of trouble, including in the larger E190-E2 aircraft - for instance, one need look no further than KLM, at least a third of their E190-E2 fleet was put out of service for a while in May because of engine trouble that simply does not ever happen with the good old reliable GE CF34. The GTF, far from having it's teething troubles sorted out, not only has continued experiencing trouble since its EIS, has gotten even worse, to the extent of causing a whole airline to cease operations because of engine problems. The GTF is so bad that once some technical issues have been resolved, more pop up, it's been a game of whack-a-mole for years, with no end anywhere near in sight. It would be an operational nightmare if the E175-E2 got into the market. The A220 is surely a beautiful aircraft with great economics, but it has some reliability issues, and would be much better if it had LEAP power.
@mikeschmit007

You're totally right, but how probable do you think it is, the E2 could still get a re-engin with a new generation engine or a downsized version of the CFM Leap?
@rafaelwilks
8 ай бұрын
@@mikeschmit007 good question! Quite improbable, I'm afraid, at least anytime soon, if ever. Suppose Embraer were to indicate interest in GE bringing back the NG34 into a production engine for the E2, and suppose GE, for their part, were to agree to this: it would most likely take a while to get that done, and I hardly imagine either company would deem it financially worthwhile to pursue this (even though it would be awesome if they did). I suppose the reason GE couldn't make a business case for the NG34 powering the E2 was because, I read somewhere, the NG34, at the time of the engine selection for the E2, hadn't yet been test-run, while the GTF was in the process of being test-run, and Embraer understandably estimated that the GTF was the safer and less risky option. What a decision, considering how badly the GTF turned out!
