I test drove this piece earlier this year for about 3 weeks and really liked it. I actually wish it was a bit thicker. For some reason that bothered me. In fact that's about the only ting I didn't like about it. I will probably own one someday but there are quite a few watches I plan on buying before I get to it. I really wish I had checked it out before I purchased the H70555923 because I like it better overall. Nice review as always but the title seems not to jive with the review.

These new 80 power reserve movements without a regulating screw do not have to be sent to Swatch group for service. Any capable watchmaker will be able to regulate and service. Great video! Devil's Advocate time! The Khaki Field Automatic has 100m water resistance and if you get a used one (like I did), you can get a variant with an ETA 2824 that you CAN actually regulate. I practically stole mine at $200 which gave me plenty of money to have a precautionary service. Not that this service was not required, I wanted it regulated as well anyways since I prefer my autos gaining vs. losing time and it was losing 5 seconds a day LOL..

I do understand Rolex does not have AR coatings on the older offerings. Some of their modern versions due. That does not mean it is good thing. AR makes a watch easier to read with a quick glance. Something I would love in the field. A watch that is designed for outdoors should have good lume. Which makes night legibility easier. Higher water resistance is a personal requirement for myself. Thanks for the comments.
@bigsmooshflopdong33

Hamilton has never been known for lume or for their AR coating. Who would buy a watch without knowing the WR, and yes 50 is plenty for daily wear. Also this can very much be regulated, it has a free sprung balance so it just doesn't have a normal regulater arm, there are screwson the balance wheel itself for that, doesnt mean you can't, plenty of videos here on youtube. As long as your local watchmakers knows what hes actually doing, it should be fine. There are also huge benefits to having a free sprung balance, likely why companies like Rolex do it very similarly.

I love this watch, it quickly took over my daily wearer. The wr isn't a big deal to me as I don't wear my watch in the shower/doing dishes/swimming. If I head out fishing or something I'll take a dive watch anyways. The lume is definitely mediocre, but I've never not been able to tell the time in the dark. It's just not as bright as most of my other ones. I'm sure for some people these things can definitely be issues, but if you nitpick about things you can tear apart basically any watch you'd like haha.

Confusing title. Everything great about it except lume and wr.? Wear a Seiko swimming and wear this at other times. It looks great and how often do you wear it in water anyway? If it’s ok to wear when washing hands or rains that’s good enough. It’s not a dive watch and why would you wear it in a shower. Just got this and after 80hrs of sitting in the box on its first full wind it’s still running at -3/4sec/day. My Rolex’s aren’t that accurate. I would title this video “Why the Khaki King is Almost Great!”
@utewatchco1468

Lume isn't great, water resistant is just okay, and the crystal creates a ton of glare. Or and the watch can't be regulated or serviced by an independent watchmaker if need be. That is my issues with it. Other than that it is a cool watch. Glad you are enjoying yours.
@themightysquid

ToxicNATOs : I understand. These are shortcomings of many other watches. Mine just passed 80hrs sitting and is 2 sec slow for -.6 sec/day. I rarely get them wet and I’m used to the domed crystal from my Hamilton quartz chronograph so it doesn’t bother me. My Rolexes don’t have AR either so I wasn’t expecting it. ToxicNATOs: finished timing the watch. Power drained at 90hrs 13min avg +.94sec/day after first winding of 40 turns. And yes, the reflectivity of the crystal can be distracting but along with the polished bezel gives a certain clean clarity and elegance to this watch. It has a great fit, low profile and a smaller than 40 mm look. The pros certainly outweigh the cons on this one.
