Exceptional vehicle. I have had my 2010 for about 8 years and have 115,000 miles on it. Aside from regular maintenance, the car hasn't needed any repairs until last year, about $1000 for some very minor issues. Very, very pleased! It has always exceeded my expectations and is such a comfortable vehicle and so enjoyable to drive. Gets great fuel economy on the highway, about 35mpg. I average about 15 in the city, mainly short trips, which is pretty good considering the size of the car and weight as well as the amazing V-8 engine. This car is without a doubt impressive and quite a value used.. BUT it is important to understand that repairs, if you ever need them, can be costly. I hope to have many more trouble free miles! I have seen many for sale with 200,000-300,000 miles on them - built to last!

I own a 2005 LS 430 UL. Love it to bits, I can however see the joy of owning the 460 LS too! But to be honest , I think the 430 LS is the last Lexus to have that dynamic classy look , I don’t think the 430 will date But get more beautiful as time goes on ! One proviso They need to be as immaculate as possible. They look un interesting if they become shoddy Same as a shoddy Rolls Royce loses its appeal …

I bought my 2007 LS 460 at 89,000 miles StarfirePearl White with Light Grey interior, which was hard to find in that color and interior. I bought it in Fort Wayne Indiana Lexus, Love the car and feels smooth but at 100,000 to 120,000 miles I've put $15,000 dollars into it parts and Labor, Wheel Bearings, Control Arms, Brake Actuator, 3 calipers plus Rotors, and When I did my Drain and Fill on the Trans Fluid my mechanic told me it was pretty low on that (Shame on Lexus of Fort Wayne) then I noticed my oil was low and added some here and there and took it to my Mechanic for a PCV Valve replacement and he showed how the old one wasn't even connected 😳, so after the new one was replaced I at least don't have to add oil as often. I drove with the PCV valve disconnected for about 3 years, I will never go to that Lexus Dealership again.

the control arms are pricey, BUT, fortunate for me, my mechanic said he could get them for a whole lot less, not junk, sorry right at the moment I don't remember the manufacturer of the ones he got. Much of work CAN BE DONE by a really good mechanic that knows Lexus cars in general, some of the electronic stuff is another matter, as the computer has to be programmed after replacing certain things. Lets face it, people who buy these (myself included) are those who could have never bought one new due to the price. So, I spent weeks and weeks on the internet all over the country but mostly in states like California, and Florida where paint and undercarriage rust isn't a biggie, although in Florida it depends on WHERE in Florida the car has spent it's time, oceanfront, no garage.....mmmm maybe some paint and slight rust issues, but again, most of the original owners had the bucks to live big and buy these pricey cars so garage is usually the case, also many were bought by high flying executives that did not put that many miles on them and rarely had the vehicle FULL of people so the wear and tear on the interior is usually very light. I would NOT buy one that has changed ownership a bunch, in fact for me, it had to be a one owner from new, no accidents, and low mileage, well maintained, paint in good shape and for the interiors with the problem interior "putty like" parts that when the car sat in the heat began to break down and some of the plastic with small cracks. So, again I did so much research I was aware of the years with this problem, and I only looked at ones that the original owner was notified by Lexus a recall done for zero at the dealer. I have looked a some that the owner did NOT take advantage of the free recall fix and yes it shows, more on some of them than others. So, if you are going to buy a used car, you MUST do some really fierce research on the cars your interested in by year and by model. Even Lexus or BMW or Mercedes etc have had their share of not so good ideas or things that needed recalls. ONE owner is the ticket, low miles is another, garaged is up there, and for sure you need to KNOW AHEAD what things need replacing, when and how much to do so. If you are a cracker jack mechanic or you know someone who is and has a shop working only on Lexus, Audi, BMW etc you can have things done for way less with that, but I also KNOW from research that some things really need to be done at a dealership as reprogramming the computer after for instance a brake actuater , has to be done and the code to do so is by the year so a non dealership shop couldn't possibly invest that kind of money for the programs for every year. Yes, I do believe these pricey cars are made that way to force dealership repairs, but if your really good at research you can get around much of that. Not a car to buy if you are not a car person, don't know much of anything, or you buy with higher miles and several past owners, you are heading down spend money lane and then be complaining the Lexus is a terrible car. It is a care that must be taken are of properly and loved kind of like owning two horses, one grade horse you bought for a thousand bucks, and the other horse you bought for twenty thousand bucks. Which one is going to need the best and pricey care? Mine is super, it is a dark dark black that you can "look into" has great clearcoating, bought with under 70k original owner, Florida car , garaged, did not live on the coast, and was driven by an executive . I hope mine will last a very long time as I know how to take car of it, and I will be putting money aside in my car budget for when things DO need to be done and might be pricey. last tip, don't get the AWD, and don't get the changeable suspension, the RWD gets better mileage, and the super changeable suspension has been known to be problemactic on some LS460 years, DO YOUR RESEARCH
