In fact; it’s about time the Middle East invests in its own leagues. I prefer that to them buying football clubs over.

They have bought many many footballers from other league using so much money that even teams outside their league are saying they can not even compete anymore when transfer window is open. Not only Saudi or other Arabs owned teams but also other teams money that are not Arabs owned are also getting out of hand compare to what other clubs outside of PL got. Saudi Pro League is not watched that much anywhere else other than Saudi Arabia. If Newcastle, who is in one of the hardest leagues in Europe, don't have to buy superstar to be succesfull, neither Saudi Pro League have to buy them. Also, who in the Europe watch Saudi Pro League? Actually, Saudi League becoming big will do wonders promoting football in middle eastern countries and even other parts of Asia. I think this will actually be better for football, reducing european dominance is better for the sport and its future.

As an Asian i doubt if any Asian leagues like Saudi, Chinese, or even Japanese leagues would takeover European position as the Mecca of football despite of many improvement they made for their football, let say how much money Americans (MLS) and Chinese spend on football but results nothing but only a nursing home league for European-class players. Literally Europeans are only paranoid on something that will never be happened.

Difference is City and Newcastle are long projects. They focus on academy, manager and other stuff. Not at all same what saudi is doing now. Plus that actually grows the competitiveness of epl, only league other than serie a that's enjoyable.

Unlike the Saudi league the premier league has history and has always been a top league and the money they spend just strengthens that, the Saudi league wouldn’t exist like it does rn without money, you’re just mad that English teams are becoming more and more dominant in Europe

There's also the fact that England largely been involved with truly helping overinflate alot of the transfers around Europe, probably the most of any other top 5 league. To the point where they can input what would be half a lower club's renovation budget into getting one top tier player. Probably having more consequences in the long term then Saudi Arabia ever will unless they buy half of Europe's clubs.
