It became solely about PROFITS to them. They kept going bigger and bigger, and cutting back on quality and customer service.

I would argue it was solely about revenue, these companies wanted to grow as quickly as they could, not paying much mind to margin. You'd be surprised although they were growing very quickly, the profit margins were being ignored. When those revenue growth numbers started to recede, all these companies that were ignoring profit margins quickly realized they weren't making as much money as they should be. And the business model fell apart showing that their houses were built of straw.

Negative. It was about revenue growth. They were growing so fast, ignoring profit margins. So when that revenue growth withered away, they didn't have the sound business model that everyone assumed, and these businesses collapsed.

@@guidedbygreen1480 Lmfao. Only a naive mind thinks they "ignored profit margins." That's a way to look at it to not make people out to be the bad guy when in reality, it was all about profit. No business owner, share holder, or anyone with an iq above 100 would not think to look at the core of a business, which is profits. They pay people to do bad work so warranty claims were through the roof. Most solar equipment, if installed correctly is fine. Even cheaper chinese panels are fine. The BIGGEST ISSUE is bad labor which leads to increase in warranty claims and law suits when they don't have enough experienced techs/installers to solve issues. The claims kept piling on while never really being able to solve many of the cases since it requires a much more knowledgeable and skilled tech than what they had hired in most states. Instead of fixing a moutain of issues and paying skilled electricians, they decided to liquidate, take all the money, and run. Enjoy the rest of their lives with millions. Think a bit deeper, even if it means facing a hard reality that makes people out to be bad or evil because these people exist in our world that you and me live in.

For example, Solaredge may not even be around in a year from now, this is why ive been pounding the table for residential installs to utilize Enphase.

Your "industry" is not selling a product. Your "industry" and the business owner's within it has developed a product based on the equivalent of big ag derivatives. When you don't sell a product that you manufacture; your "industry" is the service sector. You're selling a service. The service of installing panels based on loans and subsidies. Sadly, that's not a model that's proven profitable long term, unless you're big agriculture or a hospital.

There are many industries that are built on providing a high dollar value service - home builders, car dealers, etc. We're seeing many solar companies thrive at the same time these giant companies are failing because they are managing their growth without leveraging debt and serving their customers in an honest manner that helps the customer win too. It can be done.

I think most people would love to believe in solar. But when any of us enters the solar "rabbit hole" it doesn't take long to figure out that carnies are running the show. Finding integrity in the solar business is pretty much as unlikely as finding integrity in the timeshare business.

The solar industry has a lot of bad actors, but don't let several bad actors spoil things for everyone. There are many companies like ours that are running a business with integrity and putting customers first.
