Today is my birthday, and every single year, I turn on the TV and watch the celebrations of those great men who liberated Europe, starting in Normandie. It is tragic that so many have forgotten what they went through, and why. And as more and more of them pass away from old age, it is the duty of the younger generations to remember and learn from the past, and those who experienced it, so that we may never repeat the tragedies inflicted on our fellow man. I have always felt a strong connection, being born on D-day (albeit many years later), and hope we will never forget what happened before and during WWII. When it becomes time, I will teach my children what happened, and show them what I can, to keep the memories alive, long after those who lived them are no longer with us. May everyone have good days ahead.

Thank you and bless you for this post. And THANK GOD (or whatever, if any, higher power readers prefer) for the brave selfless souls who participated in the Normandy Invasion and subsequent actions to end the war. It is virtually impossible for me to comprehend the type of human who would click "thumbs down" on this. One wholly devoid of humanity, evidently. I fervently hope never to encounter such a creature in any domain, physical or virtual. But I am certainly richer for having encountered you, Professor Lewin.

Amen. ;(

I have also a special thought for my great grandmother which I had the chance to know until my 20'. She was a key piece of Belgian Resistance, bringing radios by bicycle that her husband made in a small room they build hidden in the garage. She was the most pacifist woman on earth and didn't even hate the Germans (some have wives and kids in Germany, you know...) which taught me a lot about human dignity. May those lessons never be forgotten, and that such beautiful people didn't live such horrors for nothing, and their children to never see this again. I'm so proud of my Mouty.

Sir, A person comes to a genius if he faces all the struggles of life. These struggles of life made you a great Professor, Physicist, and also a great Philosopher. I am proud of you as your life journey consists a various off-bit moments(it can be sorrow or joyful). Take care of yourself, because you have to live a very longer life to complete the all chapters and periods of it. At my perspective of eye, you are younger than me, So you will see many best moments that is equal and opposite of your childhood. As Physics called it Symmetry. If positive exists, then the negative will also exist on equal. So, don't get depressed. The life is going in the Space-Time Graph. Hahaha! after vietnam my oldman worked for AP news. 1 of his friends ben helling was just starting out at AP world news, in Germany and was soon behind lines he didnt want. Being a teen at the time, they took easy on him. They sent him up to collect unexploded ordinance on the roofs and upper floors of the building and carry them down. unfortunately you might see this again before you depart. If i said to you, the chains used this time around, will be based off systems you have taught throughout, its also why the dumbing of school kids has been priority (how was it said, technology incomprehensible is likened to magic). If i also told you you could have direct or indirect influence on breaking the system, so it can not be used to enslave, would you take that opportunity ?
