Black people are under represented in this investigation. Black women probably face these issues 10x in France as they are also treated worse as they are black, so progressing is 10x harder as well. Its interesting, as the female politician interviewed describes the experience of black people trying to progress and the glass ceiling the face, when they gain more responsibility in French society. Did you know it was a black woman who started the #metoo movement??! In the same way men need to be part of the movement white people especially those of influence need to be part of the movement to bring Justice equality and fairness to the Black community of France. However this train of thought should be applied worldwide.

I am a French white 43-years old man, but I am not very confortable with Segolene Royal being interviewed as a victim of sexisme in France. First of all, SR belongs to the top-50 French political persons in France, so to get this level of political responsability, she did just like all political men, i.e. she "killed" a lot of political opponents along her carriere. Second, most of the criticims she mentiones are made equally to most of political men, and I think actually agressiveness among top level political men can be much more spectacular. Third, SG is trying to position herself for the next 2022 President Elections in France, so she is going throug a large and smart mediatic plan mostly based on this victim narrative mixed with ecologic ideas, which are both pretty trendy segments to be positioned in these days. Fourth, based on numerous testimonies, SR is broadly incompetent in many fields, and she has a very tough personality. Fifth, you could for instance investigate on her legacy in the Poitou-Charente region she was head of (a lot of public debt was accumulated when she was in charged) or also mention how she tried to be elected MP in La Rochelle circonscription, imposed by Paris Socialiste HQ, while the local MP went rogue and won over SR because she had nothing to do in this region... What I mean is that it is true that metoo movement had a special echo in the French society (both very progressist on some aspects like abortion or education for women, but also very conservative on street harasment and top level position in large corporates), but generally speaking, I would classify SR as a top level political woman whose overall carriere benefited from her being a woman...

The French basically understand that MeToo was founded to support women who see themselves as wronged by men and want revenge. In all European societies support for victims of rape and condemnation of perpetrators of this crime is universal and uncompromising. MeToo encourages women to lie to the police and in court, both of which activities are serious criminal offences. Whatever you think of the French they are far too mature in the relationships field to buy into that sort of nonsense

Yeah all the femicides in France really show this dynamic to be true hahaha you guys have your heads up your asses because it doesn't offend you. Men are so worried about being reported on because they know how they behave, sorry you have to treat women with respect. And where are all the good guys when a woman needs help. How about this for some thought, since I was a girl I have always had the fear of being raped everytime I leave my house because of victim blaming and rape culture, my mom always warning me I could invite a man by wearing the wrong outfit. Imagine if gay men were raping straight men at the rate of men raping women, men would have demanded legislation immediately. Meanwhile women are still being told in 2020 that drinking too much or wearing an outfit can be an invitation for rape. It would sound ridiculous if you said this about murder, oh that outfit makes someone want to murder you, so then why is it accepted to say to a rape vicitm.
