Both the Two Towers and RotK games had surprisingly good behind the scenes content. I also loved how you could just jump into any level to replay. I can’t begin to call how many times I replayed the missions as Sam. So good

Oh man Leo, you have no idea how happy this video made me! I adored this game; my cousins and siblings and I played the PC version *constantly* for a while, sometimes blasting through the levels in a day and sometimes just killing the hundreds of orcs on the Southern Gate level until they finally stopped spawning. It also had a couple horde mode levels up at the top of the level select screen that we were all too dumb to actually beat, and it had Faramir as an unlockable character, which for some reason I thought was ridiculously cool at the time. I feel like there was a relatively brief window in time where this game could have actually existed--licensed stuff went in a pretty different direction a few years after this--but we got really lucky that Return of the King happened to fall into it. Great game, great video, great channel

Hahaha man, This is so crazy. When I was 15, my appendix ruptured and I spent over a month in the hospital and played this game ALOT. I totally forgot about it until now! I even convinced my mom to play gandalf for a bit and she still always says "remember that time we played that LOTR game together? I was pretty good!". Surprisingly alot of memories attached to this game! Awesome video as usual Leo!

Leo you pushed the nostalgia up to 9000 for me this video. This ROTK game I played constantly as a kid and probably remains up there as one of my favorites of all time! My close buddy I played the game with as kids together, we still quote that Hobbits on Gaming extra when playing games together! "Hang on a minute...which one's X" P.S. I also absolutely love the Chamber of Secrets PC game. How much would I have to pledge MinnMax to get you all to play that game? I have a copy and live in MPLS so am happy to lend out...offer is always open! Great work love the vid!

It was so good that I played it about 20 times because on those days Ps2 was new in my country and I didn't have money to buy a memory card! So I played and played it and every time after 6 or 5 hours I had to stop. But I think the main attraction of the game for me was the DVD quality Cutscenes. Here we didn't have a DVD and I had to watch LOTR with quality of Handycam dude who went to Theater and records the worst version and even after that someone Converted that version to VCD. so cutscenes between each mission were rewarding for me. The second attraction of course was the gameplay and the ability to change the characters. and on top of all of these was a good graphic. everything about this game is good. I think a lot of the movie licensed games are underrated. games like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, by the way thanks for your good vibes.

I just got a new copy on ps2, this game is literally the oldest thing on my memory card. I can’t count how many hours I put into this game as a kid and coming back to it as an adult just confirms how amazing of a movie tie in game this is, all the unlockable interviews were incredible

Great video as always Leo, this game consumed my childhood. Still the most fun I've had in a LOTR game to date. I really do have to give it to EA Redwood for caring so much about creating combat and level design that was impressively immersive for the graphics fidelity of the time. This game and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy were my two favorite licensed games as a kid.

I remembered how much fun i had playing LOTR The Return Of The King on Pc 😁. The Minas Tirith levels were epic to play when you played as Gandalf and holding the Gondorian defense against the orcs . The hack and slash combat was awesome and playing as different characters such as Gimli, Legolas or Gandalf 🙂

Never got a chance to play these. I did play some cool RTS game based on the franchise called Battle for Middle Earth. The hero units in that game were so broken. They had Warcraft 3 style characteristics and any time their ultimate ability timer was up, you'd mow through the enemy army. Also, I definitely share your opinion on the Harry Potter games. The Sorcerer's Stone game was my introduction to the world of Harry Potter. It was better than it had any right to be, and it incorporated aspects from the books not found in the film, like Peeves the Poltergeist.

Sorceror's Stone ps1, Chamber of Secrets ps2, Two Towers ps2, Return of the King ps2. One of the lotr games was featured in PSM or something. A 3"×2" side by side with the movie and game was like "look at the graphics!". At that point I thought we had made made graphics 100% real and nothing could top it.
