What is your opinion about living in Mallorca comparing with Marbella? Any feelings about it? I'm planning to move to Spain also and I am struggling to choose between Marbella and Mallorca 🙈
@thepakspan
Жыл бұрын
Mallorca has a lot to offer too. Beautiful views, scenic places, amazing beaches with cristal clear waters, nice entertainment options.. etc. However personally our opinion is that Marbella has more options (for entertainment, views and work) not because it’s Marbella, but because you can easily drive to a lot of places near by and it’s close to a big international airport (Malaga). Being on an island has its limitations. Also, we do like fashion and whilst Marbella is not Milan or Paris, it has a lot of fashionable options. Maybe try spending a week in both destinations? Each person has their own taste and preferences. We will be happy to meet up for a coffee if you visit Marbella 😊

Hoi Marina, I live in Marbella since 2011, before that I lived in Salou and Mallorca. The advice ThePakSpan gives is misinformation. These are exactly the words of someone who just moved to Marbella. 1. Corruption is everywhere but Marbella is ruled by the Mafia, they killed a club boss a few years ago. Since then, Marbella has deteriorated fast. Even the mayor is corrupt as well as some banks like Sabadell. At night, the streets are overrun with brash whores, and once or twice a season a woman goes missing. My girlfriend was attacked twice in front of her own door and we live in the neatest neighborhood. Mainly the expats are fake (impersonating being rich). 2. Marbella has no more options but more expensive options and this ties in nicely with corruption. Marbella still lives in the status of 20 years ago (for the rich and famous) that they have long lost 3. Marbella to Málaga Airport: 36 min. Mallorca has its own airport called Palma Mallorca: 34 min 4. Being on an island has its limitations. Uhm it's a humongous island. Being in Andalusia has more drawbacks, they are very rude and brutal people compared to the open and friendly of the locals in Mallorca. 5. Just like every city, Marbella has the well-known fashion brands. I don't think the average person cares about that.🤣 I advise you to visit both places for a long time (for 1 month). Work there, taste the culture (not the tourism), set out to explore the area. I'm moving to the north of Spain, where the people are very down to earth, quiet living, nice environment, and very modern and cheap.

@@lionsground Hey 👋🏼 Thank you for taking the time to write this message, you are right that we are writing from the view of someone who moved to Marbella recently (6 months ago). We can only tell you from own experience, so far it has been extremely positive. We will keep those things you mentioned in mind and do a video when we complete first year. In the meantime if you have any suggestions please feel free to bring forward. I would like to disagree on one thing you mentioned though….. the people of Andalucía, I understand and respect your experience has been of negative ones….. myself(Arslan) who is a non native…can confirm that the people of Andalucía are an absolute charm, delightful, open hearted and full of life. I have travelled all across Andalucía for years mainly mixing with locals, they are one of the best hearts in Europe in my personal opinion. In terms of crimes, we understand that, only the one who goes through….understands the severity of the situation. But compared to London standards, thats pretty low, we have a murder every single day of the year! Once again, we are open to suggestions and appropriate different prospectives. Best regards Thepakspan

@@thepakspan Thank you very much. I am summing this up because you have to live with it sooner or later. As for your opinion about Andalusians, that's a matter of personal opinion and experiences (of course they are not all bad, but I know there's a huge difference between mindset and mentality between North and South). About the crime rates in London, that is irrelevant because we are talking about Marbella. I believe it's last week, a 14/15 year old girl just escaped a groups rape. Please don't do video reports about crimes for your own safety.

Great video. A question? How much is it the rent of an apartment? And how much will it cost to buy one apartament 3 bedroom? Thanks
@thepakspan
10 ай бұрын
Thank you :) In regard to rental here, there is a little issue…. Most places are seasonal since they can make a year’s income in just summer! You can still find good deals on long term(year+) best place to check is idealista.com. Some places are cheap and some very very expensive but average I would say for a 3 bed is about €1600 - €1800. In terms of buying you are looking at €300,000 at lower end to average side…. Keep in mind that the asking price is always negotiable here 10-20%. New builds are more expensive as well as carry higher tax(8% vs 20%). We are meeting our agent at the end of this month(Zimmer estates) to make a video about buying a property in Marbella at the end of this month and should be ready for first week of December ;) Subscribe and stay tuned :)

Thanks for this video. It looks great. What do you think about Estepona?
@thepakspan
Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! 😊 Estepona is about 30 minutes drive to Marbella and it is very easy to get to. It has a very Andalusian charm to it. Nice beach, plenty of restaurants and bars, lots of options for shopping in the high street and good supermarkets. It is a very nice town and it is actually bigger than many people say. We do go to Estepona regularly. We really like it. We actually did a video in Estepona called “moving to Spain after Brexit” and you can see the locations around it (including the beautiful squares). We will do a specific video about Estepona very soon and if you would like us to make other content please let us know ☺️ Thank you again for the nice words.

For me, there's even one more reason: the opportunity of sailing.

@@thepakspaney thanks for the content, I'm planning on moving to Marbella, but I only speak English, is it possible to comfortably socialize without knowing Spanish?
@thepakspan
Жыл бұрын
@@brucejordan8548 I think you’ll be fine, there will be some places where let’s say maybe a local shop keeper doesn’t know English but easily navigated through google translate. Apart from that our local supermarket have announcements in English, Spanish and German, I went for my medical test for driving license exchange and they spoke English, my medical insurance company has an English department but then other places like electricity/gas call centre you might want to ask a neighbour or a friend to call on your behalf. I would highly recommend an audiobook “Learn Spanish by Paul Noble” which helped me tremendously making sense of the language.
