Thank you so so much for being here and for sharing your thoughts. Your words were so encouraging. I was afraid the video was too long for anyone to really enjoy.

Yes. Totally agreed. A program may sound incredible and it could be working so well for so many families but that doesn’t always mean it’ll work for your family. Thanks so much for being here and sharing your thoughts. I hope you’re doing well.

Thank you for sharing. It looks an amazing program and well thought out. How long does a lesson take if you do all the things?

We love Generations for history. For the younger grades they have world history, and you do maps for each lesson but not too much. Were currently doing Africa and next year we'll be doing Europe. For high school the American history looks really good. I want to get it just to read through.

That sounds wonderful. I was tempted to try generations but kept flip flopping. I may have to look into it again. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and for being here!!

I had Part 1 only and I used it only for one year. I used it as an extra portion on top of the history stuff I already had done. My sons enjoyed some of it, but not as much as what I had already done. I thought it was pretty good but way too long at times. I had the workbooks too which I think my sons had fun with! My sons did NOT like the maps but I liked them learning that part. I felt it was nice! That is cool you visited Greece and lived in Europe! I also enjoyed Our Creative World but my sons didn't. . .they hated the timeline portion. I just think it was too much for them because I had a more fun way of approaching history for several years and I changed it up with this version. . .so yeah, it is good I think in light usage! What a great review you gave!!

I’m glad to hear someone else feel the same about this program. It can be quite a lot but parts are good. Now I’m curious what you were doing for history 😉 Thanks again so much for sharing always all your rich thoughts. And I am so thankful that we had the opportunities to first hand visit places like Greece while we were living overseas. If it weren’t for our time overseas, I don’t think I would be the history lover I am today.

For my history stuff: I would teach about different countries for a few months at a time, choosing children's books that had to do with the topic (picture books and middle grade books), I would go to the library and get kid friendly books about the country (informational with pictures), I would make crafts and food based off of that country, etc. My kids loved it so much. I also would teach them about a missionary that had gone to the country at some point too. When I was a child, I was not taught enough about history outside of the US, so it was important to me to teach my kids history within the US and outside of it. I kind of played everything by ear.@@TheChan7

@@TheMennomilist I LOVE that you basically created your own history program for your kids. I love how you do it. I wish I were brave enough to let the curriculum go but I do like having the structure that tells me what to do but I do notice my kids enough reading books and doing more like a unit study on it more. I can see myself getting lazy though. lol.

We love compass classroom for high school history!!! This looks too much for a yr!!! It looks like a textbook!!! We did masterbooks geography and loved the map work!!! My kids only had to put places on the map!!! My older kids all have their own book of centuries!!!

Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks this is a lot for a year. Notgrass advertises that from Adam to us for a year but I can’t ever imagine getting it done in a year unless we do ONLY history everyday. I keep hearing great things about Compass Classroom but not sure about letting the kids do a virtual program but by the middle-high school years, it definitely sounds like a good potential idea. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and for always being here. Hugs.
