What is the best one to get for car photography? I am 10000% clueless when it comes to this… but my boyfriend’s hobby is photography and I really want to get him some for his a7iii… but I’m not sure what to get. He usually does night car photography… please help 😭 I want to make sure I get him good ones

go for any circular polarizing filter. it removes the ugly reflections from cars and makes them look super clean. urth is a really good brand for these, u can find them on amazon. just make sure you know his filter thread size for his most common lenses (or just get the one for his biggest and use step-up rings for the rest)

What would you suggest for a ND filter for shooting motorsports, Indy, NHRA, Moto America? I'm shooting with Canon gear if that makes a difference. Canon DSLR 80D with a Tamron 70 -200 F 2.8, and a R6MK2 with a Canon 100-500 F 4.5-7.1. I can freeze the cars, and motorcycles, but would really like to get those panning shots where the subject is in focus, but the background is blurred out. About the slowest I can get is between 1/320 & 1/400 before everything becomes a mess. I'm sure that learning panning technique is a lot of practice, but if filters will help, I'd be interested in knowing. Thank you.

The only thing I'm missing is a description of what ND filter you used for a given photo. because I don't know which one to buy. 5/10/50/1000 ND ?

Good vide man! These filters really make the cars pop! I got the Polar Pro ND16/PL and like 1/2 a year ago & a week ago I got the Polar Pro CP both filters are amazing! The CP I use for sunrise daytime and sunset car photography as well in the rainy/cloudy days. The ND16/PL I normally use on a bright sunny day. I’m currently using a7iii with 24mm 1.4 gm and 70-200 f4, later I want to get the new 35mm 1.4 gm and I think that will be enough for me!

Nice video man, I shoot automotive photography as well. Was curious if I should get the CP version and the ND8/PL to shoot cars or one over the other?

Thanks for the comment man! I LOVE the ND8/PL filter. It’s the perfect amount of ND and it’s got amazing optics.

Donovan Wagner appreciate it! I had already ordered the CP version but it hasn’t arrived yet I’m just gunna send it back, just placed the order on the ND8 after seeing how those rollers looked. I’m guessing it’s good for pics in all situations for cars not just rollers?

Zach Hamilton yes! Absolutely. I use it all the time now even for still parked shots. So good and keep the sky nice and dark.

What should I get first? Just nd, just polarizer or the option with both in one? Will the image be to dark when I’ll use the cpl+nd when using in worse light conditions?

Yo. You deserve more subs! lol How has the nd + polarizer affected your night shoots?? How much did you need to bump iso?
@DonovanWagnerPhoto

Haha thank you! Unfortunately, I’ve just been lazy and haven’t made more videos. I definitely should. I don’t tend to use the ND+CPL for night shots, I will switch over to just a CPL.

How can u use vnd and cpl together, on top of each other-if u dont use polar pro system-? I've never used or seen one.

Often times you can thread them onto one another. That would definitely work.

Hi, I'm a beginner. which thread size and filter type do I need for a 35 mm 1.4 gmaster?
@DonovanWagnerPhoto
Жыл бұрын
Hi! The thread size of each lens will be on the front of the lens and sometimes on the bottom near the body mount. But for that lens it’s a 67mm thread size. Depending on what you shoot, I’d start with a Circular Polarizer or a Neutral Density filter depending if you shoot photo or video and what you’re subject is.

Hello i wanna do rolling shots with motorcycles. On aps-c is ND4 like ND8? because full frame sensor can take more light than cropped senzor?@@DonovanWagnerPhoto So like lens is here 1.5/1.6: 24mm lens is like 38mm on croop so similar is with ND Filter?

great video and great information. i am just wondering if i should get the CP version? and would the ND8/PL be a little too dark for rainy and cloudy days ? or is it an all around good filter?
@DonovanWagnerPhoto
3 жыл бұрын
I find the ND8/CPL to be a great overall filter. Nowadays, all cameras can handle higher ISO with no problem so even on a cloudy darker day, you can still just bump up iso to compensate.
