Man is created to praise, reverence, and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul. And the other things on the face of the earth are created for man and that they may help him in prosecuting the end for which he is created. From this it follows that man is to use them as much as they help him on to his end, and ought to rid himself of them so far as they hinder him as to it. For this it is necessary to make ourselves indifferent to all created things in all that is allowed to the choice of our free will and is not prohibited to it; so that, on our part, we want not health rather than sickness, riches rather than poverty,honor rather than dishonor, long rather than short life, and so in all the rest; desiring and choosing only what is most conducive for us to the end for which we are created..

huge way to express gratitude is journaling/writing. Just write the things you accomplished in the day, things that you are proud of. Also, after meditation, it is quite easy to be grateful as you have more control over your thoughts, and it's easier to think about the things you take for granted. I also find that an introspective hike in the woods can make you super grateful, you feel this oneness with nature, but then once you leave, you realize how nice it is to have a house, car, safety, etc. These are just a few things that have been helping me and hope they can help you!

A good balance to think about is that good men have power weak men have force. Good men have the respect of himself therefore the respect of others, weak men crave respect from others without respecting themselves first. They use violence both verbally and physically to gain what they perceive as ‘power’ but they only have force. Good men know that they have worked hard to achieve greatness within themselves therefore they have far more power.

@hilohilo9539
Жыл бұрын
The real elixir of life flows from the fountain of living water. This fountain flows from Calvary's mountain where it flows from the pierced side of the savior. The elixir of life is the very water of life which is offered to all; "And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Might you also learn that the real elixir of life is that water which flowed from the Lord himself as he bled and died for sinful men as you and I that we might have eternal life. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31).

Absolutely loved this video! 😄We definitely are facing an "epidemic of weak men." Super well put imo. Just wanted to add my two cents about how we might 'cure' tho laziness/weakness of young men, especially that you touched upon in the video. I firmly believe understanding the underlying mechanics of how our brains work is key to overcoming this. It's not simply a matter of 'willing' oneself to be less lazy, but rather, training your brain to adopt a disciplined mindset, if that makes sense. 🧠 Consistent practices and positive reinforcement can effectively rewire our brains to be more disciplined. And it's this shift towards discipline that helps us become more productive and less prone to laziness. Keep the great content coming Kenny! 👍👍

ok, sharing time I have a chronic condition that makes my hearing fluctuate, going from pretty much normal to unable to hear and understand anything even with hearing aids. I consider myself a social person, and strongly believe that community is the way to go to live a fulfilling life. Suffice to say last couple years have been rough (+ Covid like wth give me a break). I'm fairly young and have read Nietzsche a couple years ago in a philosophy class, particularly his book "Also sprach Zarathustra" (german title is better fight me) which elaborate on the will to power. More than just an internal drive that every man has and should liberate, it is the very force life uses to strive and survive. In such, Nietzsche goes against most philosophers before him and say that the essence of men is not conservation but instead the will to always try and be better, better as in "being everything" (Übermensch). And those that do not deliver their will to power as a constant push to betterment are slave to their own, degrading morales. Anywoo I was a slave to my own morales for the better part of my life, as most people. When I say morales, I say it using Nietzsche definition, which he kinda defines as "something that goes against your nature". Basically a suppression of your will to power. I felt like the only way to survive my pain was to hide my ambition and just be. I was conserving myself. It was not that long ago, but I'm sure I'll regard these years as one of the most depressing times of my life. TW: self-harm Stoicism was a big breakthrough for me (the other one was the importance of spirituality), and I honestly haven't read that much, but here's the gist of it: virtue is the only good, and we should aim to maintain a will that is in accordance with nature (unsaid, but I assume will is used to define values). As per Nietzsche, life (part of nature) fights, not conserve, no matter the pain it is in, as it will wither (or die) if it does not fight. Thus, I should also fight and better myself, as it is in my nature, and I don't want to die. It is the only way to live when you decided not to kill yourself, as any other way I feel like is worse than death. Add to that that I should accept the chaos of the universe (other part of nature) that we live in, and by extension the chaos that lives inside me (chronic condition, generally being), and we've got I think a good start to deal with most of the stuff. I'll come back to the self-betterment, but first, how should I accept chaos, generally regarded as being THE THING hard to accept in life? Spirituality is key. Accept Jesus in your heart. jk. I did a mush trip, it changed my life, and now I'm referring you to three books: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Pirsig), The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Kundera) and Finite and Infinite Games (Carse) (haven't read it, but he talked about it in the video so there you go). I can't really explain how I feel now, as I have trouble explaining to others close to me, but these books were great influences in my spiritual journey. Also, forcing myself to have empathy towards others, and really trying to understand why they act the way they do. I feel like suffering helps to do that, so maybe it just comes with time, but understand that others are just different expressions of what is basically the same template really helps me feel like I matter and boost my self-confidence. Being able to look at a stranger and smile sincerely for no reason is a great feeling; "I get you". (even if I don't) Back to self-betterment. Gratitude is FCKG KEY. I cannot stress it enough. Whoever you are, there are ways to express gratitude in your life. Try really hard to find those ways, even if there are just a few pearls, these pearls are worth it 100%. Also, you're good enough and you can do it, I swear. He talked about meditation, I prefer journaling. Taking the time to write your thoughts (and I don't do it always mind you, I wouldn't be here if I did) is I find the greatest way to empty your mind of useless tensions, as well as formulate ideas and setting clear (crystal clear) goals (extra dupa supa clear). I'm currently studying physics and mathematics, so I feel like critical thinking is key in order to not fall into easy trap of people trying to influence you for their own good. Do maths people, math is good. Math is life. Or just be curious and work your brain a little yk, whatever works for you. Delete social medias, fuck that shit. Sexual discipline works for me too, when I do it. Sports are the greatest thing in existence. Read. Be honest with yourself, and keep yourself in check or ask others to support you. Needing help in your journey to be a better person is not a weakness. There will be time where you WILL need help, and it's ok. In fact, I see it as a strength. As I said, community is something I value immensely, helping others in traveling the immense shitshow that is life is I feel, at the end of the day, the only thing "worth living for", so you shouldn't feel ashamed to ask sometimes. Nietzsche suffered his whole life, and his work reflects that. I don't agree with everything he said, I'm more of a post-war existentialism type. Anyway hope you had fun reading all that, keep it strong brothers. Thanks Kenny for the video.

They say that charisma is based on three things…humor, warmth and power. My entire life I’ve only had the first two but never the third. I’m a short guy, I’m 5 ft 2, I feel like it’s not possible for me to give off a sense of power. If I can’t give off power then I can’t be seen as high value. People will say things like “level up your finances” or “get a nice car” but it’s not about that stuff. Charismatic is something you have regardless of what assets you have.

The sad thing is that people actually think that any amount of power will give them fulfillment. There is absolutely nothing that will ever give you total fulfillment in this world; be it women, alcohol, drugs, money, or power. Tell me, can power make someone happy? What true joy and fulfillment can be brought to you by power? You would feel no less miserable if you had all the power in the world than you already do now. The sad thing is that people think that they can be freed from lust by their own power as well. I tell you that a man will feel just as miserable if he is addicted to every drug in existence as he will if he were to have no addiction. There is only one that can offer true fulfillment in this life. I found that out long ago. The only one who offers true fulfillment is Jesus Christ. There is none other than he that can free a man from every lust of the heart and utterly break the chains of sin. Might others not listen to men such as this young man who say that fulfillment can come through any worldly thing. Christ can free anyone from the chains of sin; “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). I have seen people freed from alcohol, drugs, and every sexual sin imaginable in one instant by faith in Christ. What more is there for you to do? you have run everywhere looking for the freedom of your sins, but there is one who calls out to you and bids you come unto him. You must do nothing but simply look unto the one who died and rose again 2000 years ago for YOU. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31)

Particularly cause i am in a realationship, so i have wondernd if there is a tipp or something like this that would help

Ehh, once you hit 30 it's too late. No point in trying anymore. From that age on others (especially dating prospects) see you as disposable. So why bother.
