Thanks for the video. I am considering getting a motorcycle in brooklyn - but most would be comparing owning a bike / non garage access vs using bicycle, subway, taxi, walking. After a decade plus of not owning a vehicle, it is definitely slowing my decision.

Any advice on where to park in Manhattan. Will I get a ticket by parking in “end spots” on block corners just before the pedestrian marking? Does it depend on the ticket hydra? I’m a little pissed I can’t ride to work. That reduces my bike to a weekend thing. Weekdays in the evening but too many lunatics coming home from work
@FXDLSBrooklyn
Жыл бұрын
Good question - Within the last ten years, the only time I've ever had any issues was getting hit with a ticket while I was parked for an expired inspection - However, in Manhattan I feel like they definitely do go harder - I would argue if you're worried about it, most blocks you can find a space in between two cars to legally squeeze your bike in - I also would like to think that they have bigger problems with he amount of unregistered/unlicensed riders on these new E-Bikes and E-Scooters, but hey, since when do things make sense 😜

@@FXDLSBrooklyn thanks for your response. Just made me feel more hopeful. It almost sounds like what I think. I mean why should the ticket hydra give me ticket if I don’t take up space. I may chance it the future. Ride safe

HJVibetv that’s a good question! What did you ride previously and how experienced of a rider were you? As for security, I keep my bike in a garage these days, all though for a few years I would chain up a sportster outside my apartment, never had any issues. Glad you found the channel! 🗽⚡️

FXDLS Brooklyn I had Radian 600cc then in my college years early 90s ninja zx11 I was a conservative rider no tricks but loved to go fast when safe. Do you think 650 is good enough today in a more crowded city should I get something with more power? I’d also ride deep into the winter but like naked bikes so those are some of my thoughts. Appreciate your feedback thanks

HJVibetv oh yeah dude you put in your time on some fast bikes. I mean more power is never a bad thing. I think at the end of the day if you plan to strictly sue urban riding, I wouldn’t be too concerned with power. But if you’re trying to get out of the city, maybe hit LI or bear mountain, go with as much power as your heart requires 🔥🗽⚡️

Certainly is! There’s really no point having anything else. You can’t ride any quicker. Traffic just won’t allow for that. It’s nimble and comes with huge leg guards (needed) Also you can fix it anywhere. Mine broke down the other day. Had it fixed in a couple of hours. Although I think it’s about to break down again😬. 133 miles back to Delhi left to go on the trip so time to nurse it to the finish line with fingers crossed and cheeks clenched😁

It's hard to add to what you said. It's all pretty much true. A lot of the suburban people i know, detest going into the city because they just see it as a big cluster. They're so used to being able to continuously flow with wind on their chest. Yes. Suburb and country riding is a beautiful feeling. But man... being able to cut through traffic when everyone else is stuck is also a sense of freedom. Parking is amazing... i usually have to park about 10 minutes away when i bring my car to work. On the bike, i find spots across the street. And you're damn right it sharpens skill. Brake, go, feather, turn left, tight squeeze here and there, potholes, dealing with crackheads, interacting with people on the sidewalks, etc. City riding is fun. It's not the cliche adventure in the vast open land that people imagine when they think harley davidson. It is its own thing with its own sense of freedom. Youre able to break away from the stress of gridlock 🦎🦎🦎
