It’s very hard in this time and age to not wear something that no one else has or has worn. Unless super rare/limited etc. Also 10 people can wear the same outfit, but only one will do it justice. People think they suddenly got style or whatever as long as they get the newest hyped shoe/item. But that doesn’t mean you have style. Only that you have the funds to splurge. The most basic people are just that, they just get the most hyped, and expensive designer item thinking they have style, yet that’s exactly what makes them basic. When you have style, the outfit doesn’t wear you, but vice versa.

It’s so interesting to see everyone’s reviews on these shoes as they are so mixed! I’ve had mine for about 8 months and they are honestly my favourite shoes I’ve bought. My pair is extremely comfortable and still look brand new, even though I wear them a lot. Every pair must be different as one of my friends pair don’t look the greatest and she looks after hers. The fact they look like stan smiths is what drew me to them actually, I prefer my shoes to have like a chunky sole and I love Stan smiths so it was a great match! I do agree they are everywhere though which is quite annoying. Love your videos btw :)

I have Stan smiths, and a pair of McQueens. Stan smiths wear out much quicker, although I do wear them quite often. I love my McQueens, I bought a size down as that fit more snuggly, and they are very comfortable. I won't wear them out to go shopping, and forget about running in them as they are essentially a sports style dress shoe, as its very hard and sturdy. But if you're going to a nice restaurant with friends, club, party, and you want to stand out a bit, I always get comments from my McQueens. I take care of mine, so I have yet to see wear on it, they look as fresh as they did when I first got them 2 years ago. Take that for what you will. If you find a pair of McQueens in a colour/style you like, get them. I don't regret my purchase at all. Make sure to try them on first, because the sizing is definitely all over the place. Mens or womens.
@theaccentman93

They’re just a dupe of the Stan Smiths. I think it strikes a lot of conversation about how dupes of designer brands are looked down upon but when certain designers start duping affordable items (Balenciaga duping the IKEA blue bag) nobody says anything

@@Rabidanti Well, with the fair difference that the Prada Superstars are made of better quality leather. That does not make it worth 5 times the amount of what a regular Superstar is, but it’s worth noting. I didn’t like how much the McQueens resembled the Stan Smiths, from the first time I have seen them. Another option that is also designer, is Raf Simons’ Stan Smiths. It’s literally a collaboration between Adidas and Raf Simons. There are slight changes, such as much better leather quality, the photo on the tongue is ot Raf Simons himself and the 3 line dots are forming an R instead. Sorry lol a spur of thoughts, but I thought I’d share.

gonna be completely honest, luxury sneakers make no sense. if you want a bag, go to a luxury brand that specialises in bags. if u want a hiking bag, go to a luxury brand for that. that’s why lv suitcases make no sense bc you’re not paying for expertises or premium quality- you’re paying a for a logo. which is so incredibly tacky. if you want white sneakers that are good quality, go to nike or adidas. don’t buy white sneakers for the brand name and then be surprised that they aren’t premium quality

About the sizing.... let me correct you... you just don’t wear sneakers without socks 🧦 no wonder your feet is moving up and down... also keep in my wearing shoes without socks means sweaty feet’s will destroy your shoes and make them smell too... for the rest I think you are right for a shoe that everyone wears it has lost that luxury and the only luxury left it’s the price that people pay for them.... literally they should be worth $150 to $200 max not $450 to $600

I knew McQueens were going to be a bit polarizing. But as a guy, I have a pair and love them. Definitely buy a size down, and at the very least, try before you buy. If you find a pair you like, with a style/color that you think is cute, and they feel good to you, then buy a pair. Don't go by a review from one person. Remember that they are more of a "sports-style" dress shoe, than an actual sports shoe, so don't expect to walk 10 miles without feeling it, as its a very stiff and solid shoe - not flexible like a pair of Nikes or Adidas would be. I only wear mine on special occasions and I've never had a slipping/gap/comfort issue.

It just seems like your review are all personal. First, that they are basic and everyone has them, ferrets and gerbils even. Second is that they look like Stan Smith Adidas shoes. Sizing problems, and finally that they split in the holes where the crease folds over time. I feel like you should have talked about the comfortability, and maybe how long they lasted before the cracking in the hole. I mean you’ve had the shoes for over 2 years now. Of course they’ll crack there.

But I swear they are honestly so painful to walk in since the leather is so stiff, the leather is shocking (the extent of peeling is ridiculous), the eyelets of the shoes rub off the leather on the tongue. Honestly so disappointing. I ended up getting them dyed black to hide some of the peeling on the white leather because it became so atrocious.

I've had these shoes for a year now and live in the US (Dallas, TX) I agree with the sizing-it sucks. I have a 38 1/2 and sometimes they squish my toe if I have them laced tight but if not, my heel is all up and down like everyone said. I have never noticed the holes splitting but now that I have looked closer, I notice a few. Something I never thought of before seeing this video and I have probably only wore them about 10x. the sizing is accurate! i got my regular size and they were too big i sized down and they were still too big! i had to go down 1 1/2 sizes down! each time i bought them online which was even more annoying with the returns. i have wide feet as well so they can get uncomfortable after awhile. i guess i have to stretch them out

I have them… I like the look and I do get compliments but they are not comfortable. A lot of people have them because the cost of entry is reasonable for a luxury brand. Back to the shoe, they are NOT comfortable, yes I’ve gotten blisters, my heel slips as well. Balenciaga, Gucci, Dolce Gabana are way more comfortable

I was thinking and wondering why people don’t just buy Stan smiths there basically the same thing but one cost more

I have them, and i sized down one size. I NEVER HAD SHOES THAT WHERE SO PAINFULL TO BREAK IN AS THESE! After a few days of weiring these it took my like 20 minutes to walk up my stairs because i had to take a break after every step 😹 now i have worn them in there really comfterble. I have worn them a lot (3/4 times a week) for the past 8 months and there is almost no damage, the only thing is that the logo on the thong of the shoe is a bit rubbed of. I think for a nice looking “basic” pair of sneakers there nice. But there are a lot of cheaper options 😂

Omg I have these shoes, mine were a bit more expensive cause they were limited to London boutique and I’m annoyed at how many people own these now! I totally agree with everything you say!!

I bought them in black velvet 2 years ago when i thought they were more 'understated' i live near Liverpool and if you go into the city you will see at least 15 people with them on, I do still like them but it's just sometimes annoying because they aren't really luxury anymore! Love your videos

I see them more on Instagram than in real life.. I have the reflective ones and I love them and I find them comfortable. I don’t think they are comparable to Stan smiths at all, I own both and that’s a bit of a stretch to say that lol.

Are these cheaper in EU? I can’t imagine so many people paying $500+ for these and they’re whole family to have a pair.

Got them like 5 years ago the velcro ones, they dont sell em anymore 😪😩 Totally worn out so got to get them secondhand. Also if you like a shoe, you should feel offended for your choice bc your the fashion expert, you choose something bc you like there design, and the sole is part of the design. I bought rickowns shoes, and people compare them to converse. I own my share of converse but they dont look nothing like converse, maybe a few comparisons.

U should have a look at Kurt Geigers ‘Jubilate’ trainers. They are a copy of the McQueens but so much cheaper and unbelievably comfy.

Thanks for this video....I purchased these this past Christmas...was excited until I wore them an realized how much they rub against my ankle...they are very hard and not designed for walking for long periods of time...not sure if this will change over time 🤷🏾♀️

I have these and i also have Stan Smiths. I love both but tbh i slightly prefer Stan Smiths. I wear dresses a lot and both pair well with dresses and basically everything. They give you that casual chic look. But you are right, i live in the Netherlands & everyone and their mama has them 😂😂 which takes away from their appeal imo. I wouldn't advice you to get them unless you just want to splurge. If you want a high end pair of sneakers that are less common but in the same price point & similar style, try Chloé lauren sneakers. Otherwise just get Stan Smiths.

I'm from Ecuador, I bought a pair of these because literally nobody has them over here and I don't like to use what everyone else has, so I bought them online and picked them up when I traveled to the US, and then I saw literally everyone with those shoes over there, I tried not to care about that because I don't live there, but still I had some other issues like, they are not as comfortable as they should be for $500. Also I've had some issues with color transferring if it rubs with your jean and the truth is that I have been a little disappointed about all of this, I still use them from time to time.
