As a former Roush Stage3 and P51 owner, I love my Roush Mustangs, nothing comes close and even my M3 can't touched the S3. Spent Sundays at Sears Point and Laguna Seca walked over many cars that was 2x expensive. Even Jeremy Clarkson famously admitted on Top Gear a Performance White Roush S3 was a top handling car, Car and Driver named it one of the top 10 Handling Cars during its period. Don't forget Roush Warranty covered the car bumper to bumper, the only issue I ever had was a faulty exhaust hanger that was welded improperly. Roush Vehicles are a special rare of breed, but the problem with Roush is the factory that supported them all these year, FORD. When Ford introduced the Shelby 350 and 350R, suddenly, there was a lot of used S3 on AutoTrader and Graiglist. The problem with Roush is that they continued down the same path, the same formula, that is...bodykit (some parts non-functional), supercharger, and suspension, this formula works in 2005 when Roush's biggest competition was a company heading down the bankruptcy court, Saleen, but now its 2018. I understand Jack and his son Jack Jr. spent hundreds of hours personally fine tuning their s2 and s3 suspension to take advantage of the Mustang Chassis, but you can't count out the R&D done by Ford. Roush hasn't done anything innovative, or revolutionary to take on the Shelby GT350. Everyone knows a Shelby GT350 will hold more value then a S3 or Jack Hammer, would you rather drop $59K on a Shelby GT350 or $69K on a Jack Hammer? The answer for my is the Shelby Gt350, both of my Roush mustangs was a blast, it was more fun then my M3, but its not 2005 anymore, unfortunately, Roush still think it is.

The Shelby is a special car for a special type of person that most likely will keep it for a long time and take car if it . The roush is for the type of guys that likes to go fast or goes to the strip / track . It has a auto which shifts faster , it has more hp and way more torque than the voodoo in the gt350 . Different cars for different people , for me I’m saving up for a last model year gt350 before they go out if production . It will hold its value better than roush but I won’t sell it soon either ways , it’s a car that’s gonna have a special place in my heart for years to come . That 8250 redline , that smooth tremec 6 speed ,and that flat plane crank makes it so different and special .

The average car depreciate $3000 a year, or 20% the first 12 months according to Cars.com, are you having us believed that a SHELBY GT350 with 150 miles lost 45% of its value? If the dealer you bought your Roush from told you this to get you into a Roush, or if they really turned the owner of the GT350 up side down, then maybe you shouldn't buy from this dealer.
@hieuluu2
5 жыл бұрын
@Sean Armstrong Let me put it another way, do you believe a Shelby GT350 with less 150 miles depreciated 45%? If what you saying is true, or what your salesman said is true, how much depreciation do you think you took on your Roush? 65% in less then 12 months? If you paid $75k for your S3, in less than 12 months, it's worth $26k, if this number sounds fishy, sorry, I am just using the same math your dealer used and the information you standing by. BTW, there's plenty used S3 on EBay between 1000-3000 miles (17/18), they have between 15%-20% depreciation on them. Likewise, there are plenty of used 18s GT350 with less then 4000 miles, they averaged about 4%-5% depreciation.
@hieuluu2

@Sean Armstrong I am hoping this isn't your "last reply" because honestly, I enjoyed talking to you and trying to get to the bottom of what your salesman told you. My point is I am trying to prevent you giving false information to the readers. I've owned several Roush Mustangs, I've met Jack Roush, even had he signed 3 of my Roush Mustangs. Your comment about Roush preventing dealer's ADM is false. Even Ford and Dodge can't prevent dealers from ADM on their Demons and Shelby, yet Roush can? Walk into Future Ford or Harold's Ford, there are ADMs on their Roush Mustangs, Future Ford is the biggest Roush dealership in America, I've bought all my Roush from them, whether you paid ADM or not, it depends on your negotiation skills, but the assumption that Roush prevent ADM is false. I've given nothing but facts, based on numbers on Car.com and EBay, you giving me what you where told be a salesman. When you talked about "the market", the market isn't dictated by how much someone wants to sale their car, no sorry, the market is dictated by the buyers and how much they willing to buy the Roush and Shelby. And according to cars.com and EBay, Roush takes a bigger hit then a Shelby, this is a fact, but at the end of the day, you can have 2 sets of opinions, but not 2 sets of facts. Numbers are numbers, they don't lied.

@@SZUSEast1 Hi What do you mean that the Challenger Hellcat is in a different league? Aren't their 0-60 and 1/4 mile times about the same. Not talking about the Demom, just the 707HP Hellcat. ZL1 from what I have read is miles above the Challenger when it comes to cornering and track times. The 707hp vs 650hp is pretty well a wash since the ZL1 is lighter. kzitem.info/news/bejne/pmaX04OVpXycpm0
@JasonJolo98
6 жыл бұрын
@@RaitisRides My amateur research lead me to that conclusion as well. Just all around value in the ZL1, technology, interior quality updates, ease of adding HP with bolt-ons, etc. The GT500 will be nice but dealers around me are already saying that they will be adding "Market Value Adjustment" pricing meaning they will add on at least $15-$20K on top of the MSRP. What happened to selling muscle cars to everyday working car lovers? These cars past the $60-$65K mark starts to take it out of the realm of everyday blue collar workers unlike the 1960s era. It's a great time to be alive for car lovers, but certainly an expensive one as well. :)
@SZUSEast1
6 жыл бұрын
@@JasonJolo98 the driving experience in a Hellcat is completely different is what I mean. The Camaro and Mustang are able to put the power down to the ground and are manageable. The Hellcat on the other hand has way too much power to handle until 3rd or 4th gear where it gains much better traction. The car is unpredictable and much more fun in that way. A Hellcat is like Russian Roulette except every slot is crazier than the last and you never know what you doin when you put your foot down. The car scares the shit out of people where as the ZL1 and Roush invoke confidence. Driving a Hellcat for the first time will make you doubt your driving skills. Dodge is known for making crazy and scary cars and the Hellcat is one of the best known. If you want to be safe get a ZL1 or Roush if you want your heart jumping out your chest every second get a Hellcat.

I've seen so many where channels and magazines have pitted the Roush versus Saleen versus Steeda, etc. and the Roush always came in last in the performance department. I think it's telling that they've got (supposedly) 700+hp and, what looks like, stock brakes. Who the hell would add almost an extra 250hp and not seriously upgrade everything that actually keeps the car safe? I've always upgraded the brakes and suspension before I started bumping up the power. Got to stay alive to enjoy the car, after all. Cheers, Joe.

Thanks for the update as to getting to the Chevy dealership. In the meantime, these Mustangs that you've been uncovering are not the least bit boring. Now you even have my wheels turning on them. As to this Roush Mustang, I once again agree with your Zonks, but in no way would they be deal breakers to buy. What I would have liked to have seen was cross drilled rotors, or better yet, Carbon Fiber rotors with ceramic pads. Also, I was a little surprised that there was no cross brace connecting the shock towers. We do have the Garden State Mustang Club up here in the ice box of NJ and I always attend their annual show. It's quite fascinating what these owners do to their Mustangs and now after watching your videos their performance mods start to make a lot more sense to me. Now, if you can uncover a Saleen Mustang, I'd love to see an up close and personal review of that! 😎 FWIW, my one college roommate had a '65 GT350 Coupe and my other roommate had a '67 Corvette 327/350 Convertible. The Mustang had been sent to Holman and Moody in Va. for suspension work and the Vette was sent to H and M more for engine work. To say they were amazing driving on the back Moonshine roads of NC is an understatement. The Mustang was literally a fugitive from NASCAR in its handling. The Vette was more of a straight line car which I actually totaled trying to keep up with GT350 on the NC twisties. Thank goodness for roll bars. In retrospect, it's amazing the three of us survived long enough to graduate. lol Apologies to all here for the long-winded reply, but after all, I am the Man of Few Words (lol) and your video just brought my past into the present.

Thank you so much for sharing some of your old college stories! You had some roommates with some amazing cars! Have you kept in touch with either or both? It's funny with some of the "custom" Mustangs that I have been reviewing. I still would be very happy with a regular Shelby GT350. I love Steve Saleen and his Mustangs! It's crazy what has happened to his business! I will track one down!
@petercarey6883

Unlike high school where reunions are regular and there's usually an "inner circle" of classmates who try and track down and keep in touch with all classmates of a specific graduating year, I've lost track of them, mainly due to so many having to go off to war. Both these boys came from very, very wealthy families. The father of the one with the GT350 owned High Point Furniture and was a large stockholder in Thomasville Furniture. He had a fleet of Ferraris, which is a WHOLE other story. The father of the one with the Vette was a very successful banker in Delaware, so money was never an issue with either one of these boys. I was definitely the misfit in the group, but they never displayed the usual traits sometimes associated with "rich kids." Both of their fathers were of the same mind set. They treated theirs sons well providing grades were maintained. Pretty good incentive as far as I'm concerned. My father's "incentive" was "Don't flunk out and I'll allow you to come home for Christmas, by bus!" LOL Maybe with the long winter months coming, I may try and research what happened to them. Thanks for "listening."

As a 2017 RS3 owner. It’s a crying damn shame these cars don’t hold there value. When was the last time SHELBY did anything in RACING. 1970...? Roush has stayed w racing since the gapp and Roush days of the 70’s. The man has 50 times more racing under his belt than Carol ever has had. How long can you kick heritage down the road? Hell Shelby doesn’t recognize a Shelby until they get an additional 50-75k out of you. After you bought a Shelby. My RS stickerd for 65k I got it for 55k it’s only worth 37k on trade at a Roush dealer with a garage queen with 1700 miles on it. The Roush will stomp the living crap out of any factory built Shelby. Love the car. But the resale value is obsurd. Until Jack get nada and kbb to recognize the ROUSH as major player. I’m done. With Roush!!!! Never again. Will I take a but fucking like this. Let all the Roush mother fuckers sit and ROT on the lots. It’s a damn shame. Roush is the SHIT! ROUSH is a living LEGEND FOR GOD SAKE!!! Not a has been. Roush needs to promote his brand as far as resale value. If these cars had better resale value they would fly off the lots. I’m done.
