Thank you Em for sharing your story on how to get over your fears of public speaking! As an Asian American, I also struggle with public speaking and I love your idea of signing up for public speaking competitions! ❤

Love the focus on mindset, especially with regards to talent's relationship with mindset. It's interesting that you bring up Michael Jordan because his elite athleticism is more of a prerequisite and only part of his greatness. His obsessive competitive nature and overwhelmingly practiced fundamentals (footwork, player psychology, shot form in his later years) made him the greatest of all time. He was cut from his varsity team *only because he tried out for it as a sophomore* when he should've been playing for junior varsity. He took that personally though, and ended up reaching an elite NBA level by the time was in university - there are video essays on KZitem detailing how Michael Jordan as a 22-year-old Olympian in 1984 torched the NBA Select team in an exhibition.

Em and Lloyd - thank you so much for the hard work you put into this channel. I loved law school (King's College London) and started my training contract back in Aug 2021 at a top 20 law firm based in London. I had a horrendous experience and left after 2 months. After a few more months out of the industry, I am now heading back in, having realised that my passion could not be dwindled by one negative experience. And your videos are a both a huge inspiration and great comfort. They remind that there is such a thing as the 'right firm' and that we all experience imposter syndrome and other challenges. If I could suggest some future content, I'd love to see how you organise your inbox and manage timekeeping. This is something I struggled to get to grips with when I first started as a trainee. Keep up the good work. I'll always be sure to give you a like!

Thanks for making videos which are informative and motivating. Just curious. In the cover picture of this particular video, did the background image of the harbourfront view get left-right reversed, hence a mirrored image?

I have bad A Levels but I’m tryna graduate with a 2:1 or above in my law degree. I hope I can become a commercial solicitor istg, some of my modular marks are dreadful.

The good news is, firms definitely put more emphasis on university grades than they do on A levels. And it's always possible to make up for anything by showing a general trend in your CV of improvement - but don't be too hard on yourself either! I thought it would be impossible for me to get a job in commercial law after getting a D+ in commercial law (equivalent to a 3rd class), but kept working at it and managed to get a job in the industry. We all have strengths we can leverage to try and put ourselves in the best situation possible, and it's never impossible. All the best and good luck! -L
