I can hear my right shoulder make a popping sound. This popping sound only occurs when i move my shoulder in a particular way. I dont face any issues in doing exercises or yoga, my shoulder just creates a popping sounds with no pain when i move it in a particular angle/way. (i hope that makes sense). There is absolutely no pain associated with my shoulder. Should I be worried about the popping sound or not?

I’ve had right shoulder problems since 2020 when I hurt it working out. MRIs showed no tear, but multiple doctors couldn’t tell me exactly what’s wrong. Since then, there’s popping whenever I lift and lower my arm. It becomes painful if I do it repeatedly. Working out leaves my shoulder with a dull ache and it also fatigues faster than my left one. I stumbled upon this video today and just finished doing the stretches/exercises. They felt great! The latter 2 exercises were tough for me, but they felt good. I also noticed that with each set my range of motion felt a little more comfortable. I look forward to continuing with this routine and will update with progress as time goes on!

Same brother, had this problem for about 4-5 years now. Only had an x-ray since MRI is out of budget for me, no fractures or what so ever doctor also said "No visible soft tissue damage". Got this injury from swimming I left it unchecked for a couple years but theres a visible indent in my right upper traps hopefully the exercises in this video will fix my problem :c

hows it going? im hoping to try this out as only recently i started having a similar issue
@Nomihc
8 күн бұрын
@@lilly_koii hey! I did these exercises for a month or so. I noticed slight increased mobility but no noticeable decline in pain from the popping. 2 months ago I got my shoulder checked out again by a couple of doctors and they determined that it’s mild-moderate impingement. Since then I’ve been doing exercises for shoulder impingement 3-4 days a week and that’s definitively been helping. I’ve also been doing shoulder stabilization exercises that have been helpful. In the first month and a half I avoided upper body exercises completely during the PT process. As of 2 weeks ago, I’m back to doing pushups and pull ups again (albeit at a much lower capacity than my hay days lol). The pullups I’ve started again with band assisted ones to reduce the weight on my shoulder and help build up strength. I’m sure the exercises in this video would have helped had I stuck to them long term. However I was trying to self diagnose with no medical opinion. My brother recommended me his physical therapist as he suffered from impingement as well. I know this wasn’t overly helpful with regards to the video…I figure I’d share my experience in the hopes that something here will help you. I know shoulder pain sucks. I wish you the best and hope you find a solution to a quick recovery.

Hi Jared, popping (medical term "crepitus") in my left shoulder (but no pain) got so bad I wasn't exercising or doing even light weights for fear of doing further damage (at that stage I hadn't done any research and hadn't even heard of "crepitus"). Just completed Day 1 of your suggested exercise routine and it made me realise how much flexibility I had lost in both shoulders (can't get hands and elbows against the wall, even at the start of the "wall angels". Hey there, Seriously thanks for this video! I'm 26 years old and my left shoulder poped about 100 times yesterday. I wish I was exaggerating. I think that I'm frequently tense, and I force myself to relax my shoulder... and upon a slight adjustment, Snap, Crackle, and Pop. Strangely all my joints have been making these sounds, ankles, twisting the knees, even hips pop when I wake up in the morning. I'm literally 155 pounds and in pretty good shape, so not sure whats been causing it....Further proof 9 - 5 jobs aren't good for you! I'll be doing these stretches, and i'll hope for a quick fix, even amongst doing these stretches, my shoulder goes back to popping immeditley afterwards. I'm sure after 2 or 3 weeks of doing these daily, I'll have it fixed. Thanks so much for the help, people like you make the world a better place.

I only have it when working out and doing something like shoulder side laterals with dumbbells. It used to be so bad I couldn't raise my shoulder at all without a painful pop, but overhead barbell presses cured that. I still get pain doing the bench press and can't do close grip bench press at all, so I'm going to try some of what you suggest, and your rotator cuff exercises are on point. Using a band to spread apart with your hands instead of taking a dumbbell and moving it side to side makes so much more sense. Thanks for the knowledge.

@HAL-dm1eh
4 ай бұрын
@@Nomihc I got away from going barbell exercises after that and had little problem so the overhead barbell press permanently cured most of the problem for me. The only issue that remained was the lateral dumbbell raise but only if I went heavy. I switched to a machine for that and issues were gone 100%. And while I didn't do these particular exercises, I did warm up for my work outs with similar stretches using bands before I'd work out that made a huge difference. I would highly suggest exercises like these for anyone who is doing any resistance training involving their shoulders, whether they have problems with them or not.
@Nomihc

@@HAL-dm1eh I really appreciate your reply. I’ll definitely start doing these and similar stretches/exercises before a workout and maybe either at night before bed or in the morning after waking up. I hurt my shoulder in 2020 doing weighted dips. I got two MRIs done and both said I didn’t tear a rotator cuff, which is great, but the doctors couldn’t tell exactly what happened. The pain comes and goes, but with increased activity like pull ups, pushups, weight lifting, I feel a dull ache for a few hours after a work out. Also, there’s the clicking that becomes painful if I do it repeatedly. My shoulders clicked before, but only when doing lateral raises with heavy weight. Now my right shoulder clicks all the time when raising my hand and this started after I hurt myself.

Whay do you think could be the issue with grinding of my shoulder? Never had injury but it feels like my bones grind when I move my shoulder up or down.

Going to try these daily, thanks! I have shoulder popping/clicking in my left shoulder only when I do lateral raises, but not when I do front raises or shoulder press.

@Eilah-rory No, they didn't work for me, but it can't hurt to keep stretching before and after workouts. I've been trying to lift from slightly different angles without compromising my form and that seems to limit the amount of popping. Maybe try that and see what your body responds to best. I have noticed that the less you work your shoulder muscles, the more it pops when it's weaker.

Thank you very much for this video. Especially the information on the different kinds of our shoulder popping out. I am still quite worried about it, but it’s very nice to know it happens quite a bit to different people.

edit1: OMG, after the first 2 exercises (do the broom stretching, and hold for 30 secs), my shoulder feels super duper weird, but kinda pleasant. (There is this phenomenon when you flex your muscle for a period of time without motion, and when you stop, your muscle feels funny, I think partially that.) I never stretched this way. Although I have poppings everywhere in my arm, maybe I should stretch all of my muscles in my arm and shoulder area for 30 secs (x3).

I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out if I am feeling it in the right spot in my shoulder. I felt like I got a good stretch, but the crinkling/crunching sound in my shoulder didn't seem to go away (though I did feel more flexible!). It happens when I put my hands above my head, then rotate my arm backwards and around and down until my hands are by my sides. Kind of like a backstroke. I'm not sure any of these really hit the spot to help with that, but maybe it'll just take more time? EDIT: The least flexible part of my shoulder after doing these exercises feels like behind it, all of these seem to stretch the front part of my shoulder, but these don't feel like they stretch the back half? I don't know how else to describe it. Hug yourself as tight as you can - where your hands end up, on the opposite shoulders (behind them) is where I mean. That still feels tight and where the crunching MAY feel like it's coming from. Self diagnosis is hard, sorry.

Every time i do make a movement on my left shoulder it makes clicking and idk why but it makes no sense and doesn't hurt but sometimew while doing shoulder press or stretching it hurts so much but becomes normal when not doing it. What should I do? Should I be tensed?

I tried to follow the stretches with 1 set each and the clicking on my left shoulder is already noticeably less than before. Plus the stretches made my back shoulder muscles sore so I think I'm targeting the right muscles. Let's see if this removes the clicking. Thanks!

My left shoulder started feeling pain after doing dips so I stopped and the pain was gone, but it still doesn't feel right and sometimes I feel very mild pain on my left shoulder if I move it a certain way. Just now I was lying down and facing right then randomly raised my left hand and rotated my wrist while lying down, I was so surprised there's a loud popping everytime I rotate my wrist. I searched youtube and here I am. The exercise really worked. It still pops mildly if I rotate to max/to the limit of movement range, I hope this can fix it if done regularly. -edit- it still pops a bit louder than the mild one after doing this , if I rotate and my wrist moved upward. The first exercise feels good to my shoulder. I think that's the counter to my prob.
