1. Capacity of solar array is 5040 watts.
2. 12 solar panels, 4 each are connected in series and then joined in parallel (4 by 3)
3. Each panel is 420 watts.
4. Inverter capacity is 4.2kva.
5. Inverter voltage is 48 volts.
6. Battery type, Tubular.
7. The amperage of the batteries are 220ah.
8. Inverter brand is Opal
9. Wire size of inverter connected to the battery is 16.00 square mm, 1100V rating.
10. Yes, there is ventilation where I keep the inverter batteries.
11. 8 (12V) batteries. 2 sets of are connected in series and then connected in parallel that feeds the inverter
Likely cause of the problem:
The most likely reason for this issue is that the inverter is not charging the battery with enough current. According to the manufacturer’s technical specifications, the maximum charging current of the inverter is 10A.

If the batteries are C20 rating, then it means that the maximum charging current of the battery is 440/20=22A
If the batteries are C10 rating, then it means that the maximum charging current of the battery is 440/10=44A
What this means is that during bulk charging periods, your inverter will not be able to give your batteries the required current.
In the case of C20 batteries, the maximum current is 22A meaning you need an extra of 22 - 10 = 12A
In the case of C10 batteries, the maximum current is 44A meaning you need an extra of 44 - 10 = 34A
