What's crazy is that indigenous people can be born with blonde hair and blue eyes. It's not exclusive to Europeans. There are black people who are natural red heads. I'm black and native American and native Americans can be born with straight hair. It's not exclusive to Europeans. It's no different than white people getting curly perms. If black hair was accepted there wouldn't have to be hair discrimination laws protecting our hair. Also the kinds of braids we wear did not come from the Vikings. The issue is that black people got discriminated against for our hair and then becomes popular when a white person wears it.

Idc that she has a black braider, she doesn't need to express that. But for me if you where braids treat black women with respect. No ma'am as a black woman, we couldn't always wear braids. That irritates me that she said that because SHE can rock whatever cause she's white. Black people can't if it wasn't for the crown act black people couldn't wear our natural hair. I personally comb through it and I prepoo first before I wash. No offense, but your braider is gonna collect the money regardless, so she's gonna let you do you. I get black women's feeling regarding white women and braids, but to be fair, I'm black and this happened to me when I was younger. I took my braids out after a month and I didn't comb it out or detangle it properly before I washed it, sections of it got matted. I ran to a hairdresser (black) who cut off the matted sections and gave me a cute short style. Years later I decided to loc my hair intentionally and have had various style of dreads to this day, I have 4c hair. I think in this scenario it's the not combing/dentangling thoroughly that caused the matting issue. Just my 2 cents!

I've worn braids, a friend of mine did them for me. I gad a couple sets of corn rows, I naturally have very fine hair, that is pretty dry, and doesn't really accept moisture, I wore the braids for maybe 3 months, it didn't damage my hair, but they do require a certain type of treatment, I understand and have seen the disrespect of natural black hair, or braids, the culture is amazing. Braiding takes time and skill, it also takes immense patience. It is a beautiful skill, and it requires immense understanding. I thought my braids when I had them, were precious, to be respected and loved.

I was with the young lady until she gave those stupid examples lol it been proven that black people have had blue eyes, blonde hair and red hair naturally. please stop using that as an example its just please stop lol 😂 😂 😂. imwould have accepted that she says she doesn't understand the problem with it and left it at that.
