A gem of the state of Wisconsin is the State Park system. There are lands all around the state set aside for everyone to enjoy and keep a little "wild". These parks show off the natural wonder of the local area, and help educate people of the history surrounding the area as well.
This episode we explore Point Beach State Forest near Two Rivers, Wisconsin. This park rests on Rawley's Point that pushes out into Lake Michigan. Due to how it sits on the lake, it features ridges, swales, and sand dunes.
The park features a little history with its lighthouse and the fact it was built with support from the Works Progress Administration.
With long trails to hike or bike - expansive beach - and the Lake Michigan Water Trail - Point Beach State Forest has a little something for everyone.
