Your striking accuracy and efficiency are impressive. Put at least a 16” to 18” handle and you would have a slightly less deft but infinitely more formidable tool. The handle separating from the head does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling of confidence. It’s only a $40.00 hatchet but really?????? Good job. Thanks for the effort.

Exactly. My $20 Kobalt did way better and i beat on it more than this one. The point being if this was your tool out in the field, you will have a bad trip….

@@LegionTacticoolCutlery Great idea. Seriously consider adding a little length. Take you time and fit it properly and maybe consider epoxy it as well.

Wow that's disappointing. Looked like a really nice axe too. New wooden wedge a couple of metal ones and I guess it should be fine, wich it obviously wasn't when it was new. Great video Gruggs. Thanks for sharing.

Not to bad. May need an additional wedge to keep the head tight. Great review 👍

Funny enough, I think I'd rather prefer they way that wedge backs out haha! I can hang my own axe head in case it's put on a bit off center. A bit of wood glue, a mallet, and a saw and I could hang that axe way better than factory! There's something to be said for a heavy headed hatchet. I carve alot with my axes and do most of my bushcraft stuff with my hatchet. A heavier head lets you get the power without having to swing hard, more controlled!

The eastwing 14" camp hatchet is $40 with a stacked leather handle. The head on this looks "kool", but handle is short, and they couldn't bother to use 5 cents worth of wood glue on the swedge.

It did well till the head came off... Just showing different options. But yeah I agree I can get better axes for 20 bucks.

It has a nice aesthetic but that head seems dangerous with enough hard swings. EDIT I just saw the ending WTF!
