Score of Johann Strauss II's waltz "Wiener Blut" ('Viennese Blood'), composed in 1873. It is one of the ten 'Vienna' waltzes - those that include the noun 'Vienna' or similar in the title - and one of his most famous works. It marks a diverging moment in his career as his first début with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the finest orchestra in the world at that time, which was so high-class they refused to play Strauss' pieces for being too 'popular' and 'commercial'. But with this waltz Strauss had already begun gaining a reputation composing operettas and other symphonic, non-ballroom works.
