Great video Graham what a beautiful area and some interesting facts buddy. Those crags and the area by the stream looked stunning. Shame you didn't get to finish your camp that did look a nice spit to sit and watch the sun set. Great choice on your bait to you can't beat a fish finger sandwich. Funny enough that's what I'm having tonight. Have a good weekend atb, Garry 👍👍

Excellent again Graham. I didn't know about the hill fort but have been up and down that valley. I think it must be over a year ago and the table was there then.😊 I went in from what I would call the bottom end, where the table was. The other thing that was memorable was the number of pheasants on the approach to the valley, hundreds. There was lots of 'pens' containing feed, so I think it must have a breading area? Good to see you out again.😊
@grahamswildcamping

Thank you, there was no pheasants at all but plenty evidence of game activity, I’m sure they must breed on the moor. I’ve been going to Bewick moor for decades and never knew about this little valley. Quite an amazing place, makes me wonder what else I’m missing 😂 I suppose it shows it sometimes pays to study maps and just have an explore, ATVB, Graham 👍

The wee valley was bit surreal with all the little bridges and handrails etc. Maybe the land owner is a discontented torie and said to themselves.. Leveling up ! Phwaw No Hs2 up north. That little valley did have a slight air of unreality, beautiful and intriguing though it was, and it was well looked after enough to make me feel slightly uncomfortable about camping there. There might be a bit of truth in what you say! Thanks, I hope to get out camping soon too, atb, Graham 👍

Another good explore and recce Graham - I hope everything is ok with Adrian, you're a good pal to strike camp and head out with him after the phone call. It's an area I'm very familiar with, it's used for grouse shooting down in that little burn area, definitely not for camping - plus you'd get no sunset or sunrise and the midges would plague you down there 😂😂it's probably been a good 2-3 yrs since I was last down there, but there was a massive heron's nest in the biggest of the crags, it looked like a pterodactyl's nest, really prehistoric looking lol. A shame about the wind noise on your vid - a friend of mine who I work with was on the last archaeological dig of that old cairn nr the ruined farmhouse, she said the bloke leading the dig was a nightmare to 'work for' 😂😂
@grahamswildcamping

Thanks Donna. The valley was so beautiful but definately had a 'managed' feel about it and to respect that I decided not to camp there, despite having a few likely spots (and astonishingly no midges). It just didn't feel comfortable and it's wise to trust gut feelings most of the time. There were some big nests up in those crags and it looks a great spot for raptors. Interesting that your friend was on the last dig there- that's something I'd like to get more involved in, perhaps when I have more time on my hands (retirement is the dream!) I wonder why the dig organiser was such a nightmare 🤣. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment Donna, ATB, Graham

Must have a poke about for that spot. Midges could be bad without that wind though. Really great video. Funny about the more subscribers, we are all wanting more views and it gets you a bit more pocket money, but what does it get you in the end? A sense of achievement, validation for your hobby? It's an addictive thing, trying to keep that curve bouncing up! Btw, I hope the beer didn't have realistic hair too.

It's a good point. What does more subs mean for me? It's certainly not money 🤣 I like the idea that people are responding positively to the videos I make, and it gives me motivation to film more but I was wild camping long before youtube and I enjoy it just for the sake of being outdoors and that little bit closer to nature. A good response from subscribers is the icing on an already tasty cake! Haha, The beer was actually very good! I'll try some more from the Cheviot Brewery. ATVB. Graham 👍
