Over here its mainly called wild camping much to the annoyance of those who actually wild camp i.e. sleeping in a bivvy bag in some remote spot. There are attempts to rename it free camping but I don’t like that. There is nothing free about it as the vehicle costs a fortune and we need fuel like everyone else. 😁👍

Ken and Carol, thank you for opening our eyes to parts of the country that we would otherwise have missed. You have a good eye through the lens for the small details that might seem mundane to the rest of us. Lovely channel, only just come across it and now binge watching your back catalogue! You should try a ‘wonderbag’ as a slow cooker. It is an eco, non electric, charity produced slow cooker. I have been using one in the van for a few years and haven’t looked back. Dr visit went well. She diagnosed Rosacea as my problem. That’s fine by me, I just wanted to rule out anything more serious. Big difference in the US of course is that medical treatment seems to cost a lot more over there. Ours costs the same of course except they take the money a different way. 👍

Funnily enough we lost one of our van keys too (we’ve only had the van for three weeks 🙈) and after a couple of days we were starting to really worry. I found it this morning in the van sink 😂 Somebody must’ve put it there during our trip out to have a play with the van - the six-year-old denies all knowledge but we’re not convinced....🤔 Also I love your new cloth-drying trick - was just wondering about that so thank you 👍🏻

Cauliflower should be white, that looked creamy yellow to me. What is generally called broccoli these days is actually more properly Callabrese. You could however refer to all of them a broccoli or even call them Brassica. Personally the only one I dislike is the Callabrese. The others all have better cleaner flavours. Ken is from Sussex and when I was younger we grew both the creamy yellow broccoli and the white Cauli.

@LifeistooshortCK
3 жыл бұрын
You are not alone in having that worry but the truth is its a tiny part of the campervan experience. In such a small van you have to be comfortable using pee bottles and as for number twos the need for that in the van is very rare as you make sure you go any chance you get in public loos whilst you are out and about. 😁
Beautiful scenery & interesting history. You found some great camping spots. Does your battery ever run out not being on hookup? Good tip on the cloths & I’ll strike coffee bags off the shopping list! Beef stew looked very tasty, amazing what you both cook in a limited space. Posted this on your Instagram but might be of use for others - Hi just looking at your Lincolnshire videos, you mentioned flies and that you like to keep windows down, we have just brought some magnetic strips and fly nets and we cut to size just bigger than windows and put a small piece of magnetic strip in the four corners, this attaches to van on the outside and allows us to keep windows down, obviously only when parked up. It did not stick great to netting so I put a bit both sides to make like a sandwich. Might help you for park ups near water and indeed anywhere where you don’t want flies in.

Hi hi Paul, thanks so much for reposting this here as we are great believers in sharing information as widely as possible. So many good people have shared tips with us and we really appreciate it. I think your suggestion for the fly screens is an excellent one. We have the material but we need to make a better job of it I think.

What's that frying pan you are using? I like the fact that the handle comes off. Any good?

Cheapo set from Lidl and they are very good. Set of 3 frying pans one handle. About £15 I think.

I'm with you on the large pork pie. Don't you have a table to eat off? I guarantee if I ate off a tray the meal would end up on the floor in pretty short order.

We do have a table but find it easier to eat off trays rather than get the table out every time 😊

Hi guy's, Windowtax!!! It's a joke? It wouldn't in the contrary surprise me what the government can come up with... Lovely and serene video by the way. Regards Rickard from Sweden 🇸🇪

No joke in 1697 we really did have a window tax. The thinking was only the wealthy had many windows but over time more and more people were caught by the tax 👍🇬🇧

I’m Leicester born and bred and whilst in MM you have to visit Ye Olde Pork Pie shop. Lovely pies. And the Stilton is quite different to some of the rubbish you buy in supermarkets. Oh, and Red Leicester is the business.

Try a pressure cooker for your stews instead of a slow cooker.

Pressure cookers are great especially the Ninja Foodie which can pressure cook and air fry. Sadly we just don’t have the space for one in our little van. 👍

You stated you can’t slow cook in your camper. Simply get a Thermal Cooker. It cooks for 5 hours to 7 hours without using any power. I use one in my caravan on a regular basis. There’s lots of videos on KZitem explaining them.

Thanks for the tip Henry. A thermal cooker would be a great solution but we don’t really have the space for it in such a small van ☺️
