Your C/S strategy worked for us 10 years ago when we only had 1 or 2 C/S agents out of less than 30 people. Tangled has 1 sku where we had many so we also took the "just refund it" idea into the RMA space too. We'd just refund the problem items and tell the customer "recycle it, don't send it back". Resending product or taking returns doesn't save much or is more expensive than just refunding and is definitely distracting from the mission. Plus even those who had a bad experience are grateful they didn't get the runaround on the way to satisfaction. Nowadays we're 30X bigger in headcount overall and do operate much closer the "normal way" but those original options are still there when needed.

If you can find a way to eventually have the same kind of focus and dedication that Peak Design does to the environment, corporate stewardship, and enthusiastic customer support, then you will have a lifetime customer in me. I know they're a lifestyle brand and a totally different market, but they do so many things right when it comes to portraying their company values to their customers. And any time I've actually interacted with them they have shown that they embody those values.

Printing Tangled PLA with the stock Bambu PLA Basic preset in Bambu Slicer should be a huge selling point. Overture does not melt fast enough, but Tangled does. Using this preset with a Bambu printer makes your printer wicked fast and perfect prints every time. You should test and validate this and then use it as a huge selling point!!!

The option to choose layer height (lower for better quality) would be great for the Etsy integration. Ofc I would expect to pay a higher price. A lot of designs require a lower layer height than 0.2 mm.

Something that I have got from your channel is general awareness for people who are technically minded, but not fully around where FDM fits in. The other things are some cardinal rules for my own designing for parts for me and anyone I'm helping out. Chamfers for under sides, and fillets in XY, oh and more recently adding in tiny radial voids around parts I want to add strength to.

I actually printed mine at 210 and it's more mat than my matte pla + at 220 it was shiny but no bed adhesion. So I settled for 215 bed 1st and 210 the rest. 1/2 kg used no real issues. Its been good but more brittle and hard vs pla +s. I have no regrets for the purchase. I am extremely happy to see $15 usa filament.

I want to support Tangled, but it's jammed multiple times on my Bambu X1, when other filament works fine. Sorry, not going to order again. Tangled filament feels stiffer, I think the tolerances of the AMS doesn't like it. I'll try direct feed and see if that works better.

This would be a good example for the Tangled Testing channel to examine. Being able to quantify "feels stiffer" filament relative to other filaments, particularly on a scale of property values would be useful information. Properties of material flexibility or hardness might be effecting how filament moves through the AMS. (I have not used a Bambu AMS, so not familiar with how it can jam)

Can´t you 3D Print the spools? -> No supplier needed anymore Or even better: Just print the inner roll of the spool and make the sides with a click mechanism, so we customers can just "click" the side wall of the spool out of an empty spool and "click" it on a new spool. In that way you could sell 2 products: 1. Just the filament spool with the inner liner/tube (so like the refill spool but with an inner tube) 2. The sides of the spool with a click mechanism. Customers can then buy your refill packs and put on the sides. Less weight, more profit. I am also quite sure that this technology could be patented, and I really do hope you do so. Cheers from Germany

@@slant3d I'm down to 2, but I used to teach a technology class at my local library. They considered getting a 3d printer but the noise was prohibitive at the time (I since moved). Many schools also have computer labs but limited space... a lot of instances where people want to learn but don't have the resources, logistics or qualified printer maintenance staff to offer it. If someone were to make a fun, simple intro course that schools and libraries could adapt with little capital investment, it could create many future loyal users/customers.

Favourite song is contextual, but frequently it's either Kill the Lights by The Birthday Massacre or Devil's on Fire by Headstones. CanCon galore! I personally find random things in my packages annoying, because nine times in ten it's just another chunk of plastic going into the local landfill. At least with the candies Prusa sends I can give them to my honourary kids. But I get the idea, I know I'm an outlier, and to be honest as a Canadian who mostly prints in ABS, I'm not going to be your customer for quite some time. Oh, and Forgotten Weapons recently did a video about a 3d printed suppressor (for firearms) made from Titanium. That might be interesting to explore from your perspective.

I do think you have plenty of room to grow, so I'm fine with what you're doing right now. That said - I'm not really that on board with the idea of "if you're not growing, your're dying." Market saturation is a thing, and nothing is unlimited. I see this mentality leading to a lot of "desperate measures" where businesses turn against their customers and make unreasonable demands from their customers, basically becoming hostile and anti-consumer, and I think that goes back to the idea of growth as a primary metric of success. If your business relies on growth so much that it can't handle a downturn, it's doomed to fail when the market saturates or the general economy goes south.
@logicalfundy

. . . and I will note this is not a sleight against Slant 3D, but in general I'm frustrated in big tech companies who have essentially reached their saturation point who are just pushing for every nickel and dime they can get. I get full screen ads in Windows 10 now pleading me to go to Windows 11, and even machines that *can't* perform the upgrade are complaining that I'm still on Windows 10. My parents have bumped up against storage limits on their Google accounts, and it turns out it's really difficult to move photos out of the cloud service to free up more room. I'm seeing more and more tech companies clamp down to protect their revenue streams, often at the expense of a good customer experience. I'm just tired of what's going on in the tech world.

Songs: Not a single favorite song, but favorite album is Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell. Especially "Bat out of Hell" and "Paradise by the Dashboard Light". A close second (third/forth?) would be from the Welcome to the Neighborhood album: "Where the Rubber Meets the Road" and "Original Sin".

Please make your spoolless version be physically compatible with bambu spools including that little notch. Also you've talked about using PETG as a $10 material. I wouldn't want PETG even at $10 because it's a dodgy quality material but if you make a carbon fiber version at a not much higher price point I'd be interested in that. The black spools I already got from you have a bit of that matte carbon fiber feel already

Now if they could make PET (not G) for $10/kg, that'd be unbeatable. But hard. That's why everyone makes the G stands for garbage version instead.

Really glad to hear about the spoolless 1kg filament since I designed and printed my own spool (around another spoolless roll) and would love to use it for these (I am wondering what the measurements of these spools are though, since I made it to just slide into the existing core, and while it can easily be modified to fit others, sometimes taking those measurements can be a bit sketch CringeHarold)

Can you speak to your filament vs bambu labs filament? I saw a comment saying it doesn't work well with the AMS. I also don't want to be forced to print slower because of the filament, does it print as fast as Bambu filament?
@AerialWaviator
3 ай бұрын
Something to consider is that Bambu might have tweaked their filament composition to optimize for printing with their AMS accessory. Without reproducible data on filament properties to compare, it would be impossible to make claims about print speed, or print quality for a given filament type; regardless of 3d-printer model.
