In our first film, we take you to Mongolia to see the Przewalski's horses that our team member Vanessa Späth was able to observe there for a few weeks.
The channel Pferd ART-Gerecht is a project of the "Foundation for dialogue between human & nature e.V." We are committed to species-appropriate animal husbandry and want to use our work to raise awareness of animal dignity and ensure that animals are recognised as living beings of equal value. Every month we broadcast a new programme of around 5 minutes and are happy about every single follower!!!
On our channel, we will show documentaries about wild horses in Mongolia and free-roaming herds of horses in Europe, look at the life of horses in the wild and provide insights into how they live together in natural herds. We will take a critical look at the German guidelines for horse husbandry and reflect on what appropriate husbandry should look like and also scrutinise what can actually be implemented in a human environment. We will raise awareness of the expressive behaviour of horses, look at the learning behaviour of horses, deal with the topic of stress and in this context also address the issue of traumatisation and approach the question of what horse-friendly training could look like.
We will invite experts to join us and also invite our community to enrich our programme on selected topics.
The aim of our work is to scrutinise, encourage reflection and present solutions for the species-appropriate and respectful treatment of horses on an equal footing while preserving their dignity. We expressly refuse to polarise and also ask for an appreciative and respectful interaction with each other in the comments.
Together we can make the shift!
THE TEAM:
A small team of filmmakers is in charge of this channel. In addition to our decades of experience in film production, editing, directing and screenwriting, we have been horse people since childhood. This passion has led each of us down different paths with horses. Our backgrounds include numerous trips to different countries to observe horse herds in their natural habitat. As well as decades of keeping horses on our own, two published books on the subject of man & horse and emigrating with horses to Portugal. Our wealth of experience also includes the successful riding of tournaments (Nuremberg Junior Burg Cup), which we turned our backs on over 10 years ago, however, after even criticism voiced did not lead to animal welfare-related incidents on the tournament and especially the warm-up arena being penalised.
