This was great, Ray! Thanks for sharing the story behind all those beautiful shots. The Dry Tortugas is such a peaceful place to get away for a few days. I've been twice, and It's been amazing each time (I'm hoping to get back out there again next spring). By the way, the waterthrush looks good for northern and the night herons are yellow-crowned.

Thanks! I’ve never been disappointed out there that’s for sure. Awesome you’ve been there twice. Thanks for the IDs as well!

Actually I do have a question... do you notice if Warblers are more tolerant Fall and Winter when they are on their winter grounds vs when they are in the breeding areas in the north?? In Cuba where I go in winter, I just find I can get a lot closer to warbler that at home in Ottawa would never let me get as close. Thanks

In my experience I find them about the same but I’d say maybe a little more tolerant in spring on their breeding territory.

Please keep making videos like this! I really enjoy them. Instagram only shows so much, but these give us a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the whole process.

I really like that close noddy portrait with the blue background, I know you didn't like the light there but I love how it highlighted the bill detail so much. you see feather texture accentuated a lot in bird photography but rarely bill texture. Also love this style of video!! very nice insight.

Thanks so much and I have no idea why I said D4s haha. Weirdly had the camera on my mind. Likely because that’s what I took on my first two trips there. This was the Z9 as you may have guessed. Thanks for watching!

I'd go with Northern Waterthrush based on the overall buffy/yellow tones and extensive streaking. Love the shots though!
