Great sounding little thing has such a lovely note to it, I bet that thing had plenty of punch left in it to tow that little truck around, and yes I have been buzy this week I just got myself a little norlett rotavator with a briggs 3hp on it for a resto project 👍

With my past experience with Villiers engine's don't just run them on unleaded put a lead additive or you could burn the valves out Andy from devon
@NorfolkMancave

No I will add an additive.

So, it's now an "Up n' Atom"?! Well, I am so chuffed to see that engine running. I have no idea why. It's not as if it were mine, but by God am I chuffed to see it and hear it - Put a nice big smile on my face anyway! Next thing would be to see it mounted on the Atom, and moving under its own power. It's a pity old Jack couldn't be here to see it. If anyone ever knew his way around those old Barfords, it was Jack. He thought nothing of taking his on a ten miles or more jaunt on the road, and that thing wasn't even registered, let alone insured and taxed! Seems a pity to cut those axle shafts, especially if the old machine has a good box and shafts? Not for me to say, but I'm thinking it would be nice to have full length axles so that you could, if you wanted to, change your mind and run the Barford as a two wheeled tractor again. Just my own thoughts of course. Excellent work, well done!

Adam, are the old engines metric, imperial/SAE or some other size i am unaware of? The tool sizes?
@kevinasarlauskas3261
Жыл бұрын
These old engines tend to be either Whitworth or the later ones UNC threads, so Whitworth or AF tools do the job.
@NorfolkMancave

Like Kevin said mate. Mostly Ww or AF. You can normally find a metric that will work on bigger bolts and nuts. But on small nuts you really need the correct size.

Really pleased for you Adam and didn't she sound nice , however I waited with baited breath when you were testing for a spark because I once had a small outboard which would not run so I checked for a spark and like you I had it near the plughole , problem was it was flooding and the plug sparked and the next thing I had a bit of a fire , no problem to put out but made me jump I can tell you !
