You can clearly see that deep down she was hoping it would be him, as soon as she saw his face, the emotion on her face was 100% genuine. When he said that he thought about her always, and had never forgotten her it hit her straight in the heart. You can't fake how she reacted, and I am so happy to read that they got married. One of the best stories on KZitem.

I met my husband when we were 5 years old and we were the best of friends. Inseparable really. I moved hundreds of miles away at 8 years old because of my parents divorce. Devasted is the word to describe that. I remember sobbing and saying “I didn’t get to say goodbye to *husbands name*”. I never forgot about him and thought of him quite often. 10 years later we crossed paths and our connection was just as strong. We have been married for 8 years now. Together for 12. He is the love of my life.

After watching this a number of times I'm certain that she knew that it would be him when she accepted the invitation. Both of them probably had unsatisfactory relationships over the 12 year gap that never matched up to the special bond they had as 8-year-olds before they became separated by 950km. He is a super hero in her eyes for not only never forgetting her but also working out a way to track her down (this is well before the Facebook era). Her very real emotions and their reunion is one of the most beautiful things I have seen. I read way down the comments that they are happily married with 2 children, now probably teens or older.

When Deniele was asked: "what hurt you?" Then Deniele replied: "Say there is a separation, and this is what happened.." Then Deniele took a deep breath and was silent. From this we can imagine how hurt Denielle is, aged 8 and having to part with Nicholas whom she loves very much, who is always together, always meets, laughs together, loves together, for 2 years at school. I can feel how much it hurts for a child of Denielle and Nicholas' age. I love you Denielle and Nicholas. Godbles you.. ❤❤❤

@susanmartin beautifully recalled - thanks for sharing. I think so many adults underestimate the depth of a child’s feelings. I remember a quote from the author of Black Beauty, Anna Sewell who wrote: “We call them dumb animals, and so they are for they cannot tell us how they feel, but they do not suffer less because they have no words.” Even more true of young children who are obviously exponentially more sophisticated than horses. It’s perhaps a poor analogy but I think you get what I’m clumsily trying to say? Treasure him - not everyone gets a second chance. So happy for you that you did.

@Kaci Burns Hi Kaci. Thank you so much for the time and care you have given in responding. I was born October 27 1986 so Im currently 35 turning 36 and my sister was born in January 1975, my Mother was born 1953, as well as my Father. Dennis claims to be born in 1949. Marrying at the age that Dennis mentioned is not an issue, my Mother married my Father at around that age as well ultimately and had my sister a little later. My mother is a medical doctor, my sister is a historian, my father is a person who deals with lots of people as well, and I have also dealt with more people than the average person may typically deal with, getting into interviews that deal with people's intimate life stories and details. My mother, sister, and father have all dealt with the stories and case histories of people throughout the ages directly, through the stories of patients (my mother is well known for letting them really talk a lot about their whole lives, which people don't often get a chance to do) and my sister through case histories and biographies, and my father through personal dealings where he too has a longstanding penchant to get people to tell their entire life stories, and since both my parents typically deal with a lot of older people (I mean people around their ages, some slightly younger and some older, since my mother specializes in dermatology in Hawaii as well, where a lot of people have retired but the sun gets them, and has worked as a doctor for the Ford plant in Minnesota for occupational health, and has worked across the country, in Texas, Florida, and various parts of Canada, there is a lot of information coming in). The story Dennis tells isn't all that odd, but online, people do tell stories and promote information which is not true, and to parse those types of people out, one tries to get more information. I'm curious about people willing to tell their stories as well as people who are somehow motivated to lie, and what might drive such people if they are discovered, it is really fascinating that some people feel some kind of psychological pressure to go out and say things in public places for certain reasons and which provide them with certain responses or feelings. Dennis may not be such a fabricator and compulsive liar, there is nothing really in what they wrote which would make it more likely that they are that, besides their writing at all, and how they wrote it, and what they wrote, and what they sought to achieve by writing such to people who are hopefully well past the point of achieving what they seem to be bragging about and flaunting to a people who may be given false or unreasonable expectations by a story which may not necessarily be true, even if the information fits, as limited as the information was, plus Dennis has not responded to anything anyway. Supposing Dennis is a truthful person (or even a liar and a braggart who enjoys depressing people by giving them false hope and unreasonable expectations for absolute anomalies), it will be interesting to hear more about his parents and his wife's parents, their families, their background, their religion and religious practices and level of conservatism at the time. I'd warn anyone studying the issue of life in the 60s to be aware of widespread tropes and stereotypes which represent hyper-focusing on extreme or overall minority events in more populated areas which were filmed or televised and more sensationalist. It would be like thinking someone in Los Angeles or New York City's Downtown represents the entire nation in between, or that hippies and free love, even at its height (which was certainly not 1963 or for 14 year olds) was covering the entire country in any extremely populated or noticeable way. That does not match up to the real stories from the ground all around the country as well as all around the world. It might be like thinking the minority of people noticed dancing on TikTok actually represent the entire youth population of today, or in North America, and it can be convincing when one even sees so many examples, but it remains not actually the case at all, and I (and my mother) speak to young people from all over the country (and in my case, from around the world), to learn about the youth culture. Also, I interview educators, when I get the chance, to hear about their experiences and stories from the kids they teach and what goes on in the schools between kids. I was recently speaking to an educator asking them about particular speech patterns which might be adopted from people growing up watching KZitem and if they have heard these kinds of new seeming "accents" among their students, which they had. This was after I noticed it in public while some teenagers were talking to each other here in Canada where I currently live (in a population with a lot of older people who have moved back here or retired here in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, though they seem to have the time and like to talk a lot more in Summerside haha. From the local population here, I've heard a lot about the very close family ties and some things about life on the Island, but they don't generally represent popular norms for the majority of the whole country overall, but I try to find out every bit of information possible, including economic information, personal philosophies, all of it. I'm currently enjoying a book you or anyone who may read this may enjoy as well, called The Closing Of The American Mind by Allan Bloom, I recommend skipping the Foreword by Saul Bellow who seems like a very irritating and pretentious sort of self-inflated braggart, and get right into Bloom's very important descriptions which cover the time period of 1963 as well I think).

@A Foxy Fox If you don’t mind me asking about your age range, I would love to understand more where you’re coming from or how old you are. You seem to be unclear about how times actually were during the period this man is referring to. Whether he is telling the truth or not is actually irrelevant; what he described is genuinely how it was then. And yes, going steady definitely did not imply sex or intimacy. Going steady was the common term used for courting (we often call it “going out” or just plain “dating”) and courting in those days did not always include physical intimacy. Although it certainly could include physical intimacy and in many cases did, depending on how important marriage was viewed in their region. Just like many people choose to date and not be physically intimate while others do now, it was the same then. People are a bit more liberated now, but it’s been a gradual shift to that. He’s referring to the 1960s and it wasn’t quite as formal as it may seem to you. It’s really considered the start of modern liberation. But again, young teens went steady then just like young teens go out and date now and they simply got married a bit younger back then. It was a running joke amongst the women in my family that if you didn’t have a husband by 18 you were considered an “old maid.” Many, including my mother, were engaged in high school to be married. Hearing my parents discuss the types of relationships people had in school (this was the early 70s) it really wasn’t much different than now at all. They had the same social dynamics as we do now. Like I said, keep in mind that the 60s were considered the start of modern liberation. People more frequently did drugs, had sex, went braless, burned books, etc. That’s the time frame he’s referring to. His story (true or not) is common for the average teen growing up in the 60s and true for how many marriages that have lasted 50-60 years now started. If you’re interested in his description, focus on studying the 1960s, and that’ll clear up why his comment is common to most who dated during that time period. And talk to your parents, grandparents, anyone you’re close to that was born in the 40s and 50s. They may have similar or wildly different stories of that time, just like we do now of ours.

What a beautiful story. I, too, had a similar story. I was 12 and felt love for the first time. She was so beautiful most boys were scared to talk to her. I wasn't afraid and we became friends. We would play 'Spin The Bottle' with other kids and when either of us spun the bottle it always seemed like when it stopped it was pointing at me or her. Our kiss was always a little longer and the other kids would start complaining! We were in the 7th grade and our class was invited to go to the 8th grade graduating class prom. I didn't know how to dance 24 hours before the prom but a girl from class taught me and 3 or 4 other boys how to dance the day before and so I took Barbara to the prom with confidence. There were more memorable moments. She would come to see me play baseball. I don't know how she really felt about me but I was madly in love with her. But, then, like these two charming young people, we were separated when i moved to another town. Back in those days, that was the end! No cell phones, no anything. I never got over it. This all happened in 1954. Fast forward to 60 years later and I was thinking about my past and I wondered how life turned out for Barbara. With the technology they way it is today I began to see if I could find her using the internet. Without going into detail, I DID!!!!!! We spoke briefly on the phone (obviously she was shocked) and agreed to meet somewhere. I went to the restaurant which we chose to meet at earlier than I knew she would be there. I anxiously waited for her to arrive in her car. Of course, in my mind I was still picturing her as an adorable 12 year old girl but I wondered what she would look like in her 70's?! But, I guessed she would look beautiful. She arrived (I knew it was her, I could feel it in my heart) and when she stepped out of the car and walked toward the restaurant, she was stunning. We had dinner and chatted, and chatted and the staff at the restaurant knew what was going on and they left us alone. When it was time to part we embraced and kissed. We said we would stay in touch with each other and we did for a short time via text text messages and emails but we never saw each other again. She has 5 children and a bunch of grandchildren and unfortunately her husband had passed away. Then, reality entered the picture. I was alone but would I interfere with Barbara's life. Would I be uncomfortable. It was a painful decision but I chose to stop communicating with her. I will never regret seeing her again after 60+ years but, like the young people on your show, you have to understand what an emotional roller coaster it is like. If anyone reading this chooses to meet up with someone from their past, their heart will take over and relive memories it has never forgotten. But, then.................... I took a moment to find her, see how she was and told her how happy I was to see her again. She said the same thing to me. But, when we each drove back to our homes that evening (before it got dark :) ) did we both think, "Gee, that was nice!" But life goes on. We can cherish the moment but it will always be just a moment in time, a flashback to the past.

My wife shared this story with me and said I hope they have a happy life as we have had, I hope so to. Our story was I met her at age five when her family moved next door and we bacame friends straight away and became inseparable as our friendship grew and we became each others best friends. At age 16 I told her that I loved her and hoped that we could spend our whole lives together, she told me that she was so happy that I felt the same as she did and told me that she had loved me since we met. We were married at 17 and waited until marriage before sex. We have had a wonderful life together, we have never had an argument and we still love each other company. Next week will be our 60th wedding anniversary and I think I'm the happiest a man can be. I hope this young couple experience what we have.

@J V of course we have different views on things sometimes and get frustrated sometimes but neither of us yell at each other, we calmly state our point of views and one of us will compromise and we reach an agreement. It's not hard when you respect each other.

Such a great story that so many of us young lovers can relate to. I'm 48 and I have a beautiful family with no regrets. With that said, I'll always have love in my heart for my 6th-grade crush, Bobbie Stevens. I often wonder if she thinks of me as well since we seemed to have a great thing together. I hope she is happy. These are great stories on this channel and I wish them all excellent outcomes. Peace, Love, Namaste, Laterrrrrrrs

No one should ever knock young love. My son fell in love with his wife in first grade. I taught him how to sign "I love you" so that every morning when I would drop him off at school, he would look back before turning the corner to his class and I would sign "I love you" and he would sign it back. They were great friends all through school till the 12th grade, when he finally asked her to be his girlfriend. After they were bf and gf, I heard the story of him signing "I love you" to her in first grade and she would sign it back. Lol!They have been together ever since. They are married and gave me two beautiful grandsons so far. She is the most wonderful daughter-in-law! ❤

Connections that are made at such a young age are genuine because there is never a "hidden agenda". People love you for who you truly are! Here you can tell that this couple is compatible in character and disposition, plus they were probably lucky to skip their teenage years. I wish I knew how long ago this episode aired and how their relationship evolved. Hopefully, it turned into an amazing love story. Si ils sont toujours ensemble, je leur souhaite tout le bonheur au monde!

There are tons of people wondering what happened to them, and I spent time to find out where is Danielle and Nicolas now. Tons of hearsays but here are some that are interesting for me: 1. They got married 10 years ago (not 8 years ago as what most commentors are spreading) and have children now. They lived in Bordeaux. 2. Got married (no date as to when) and opened luxury sock store in Paris. 3. Got married, opened sock store in Nimes (a joke probably). 4. Got married, with 3 children, but marriage ended in divorce. 5. They never got married, and Nicolas is a yoga instructor now. 6. Show was scripted and 'Danielle' and 'Nicolas' weren't their real name. They are actually really good actors. They are all funny and interesting for me. As to where they are really now, we might never know as this was an episode aired 19-20 years ago. What happened to them will remain mystery until: 1. Official interview from the show (which I doubt will happen) 2. Someone will purchase the book of "Y'a que la vérité qui compte" and had it translated (which is a stretch) 3. Someone will be able to find their social media accounts to get info. 4. Statement from Danielle and Nicolas themselves. Nevertheless, it was a great episode that depicts a great love story. It might be twisted, creepy, scipted or deranged to some. But to most of us, they showed that true love has its own time. That true love exists outside of fairytales.

Thanks for this, yeah it seems there's no reliable or concrete information available, so I expect we'll just be left to wonder. Though I suppose we can hope that with the relatively recent huge success of this video, with 27 million views and climbing, that perhaps either Nicolas/Danielle or the creators of the show will hear about it and offer an update on what happened to them. Regardless, as you say, a beautiful story and interaction between them in this video.

This was so amazing 🥲 I wish I could find my long lost best friend! I met her when I was 9 years olds, she was my neighbor. A strong bond was made since we saw each other. We play a lot and even went into adventures to the woods together to find strawberries and we use to have. Amazing times.

I met someone at 13 or 14 and we dated a short period and again met up once or twice in high school. I had an overwhelming feeling for him but I was too scared and insecure to continue to see him. I saw him again in college while I was with my boyfriend. I wanted his number but we didn’t exchange for obvious reasons and missed each other’s attempts at contact over the years. I ended up finally finding and contacting him at 37 years old and telling him but he was living with his partner and they have a daughter and he is very happy. He said I will always be the one who got away. It hurts, but I guess we were not meant to be in this life. I wish him the best and happiest life

Amazing!!! You can tell she suspects who it is who sent her the letter as soon as she opens the door and hears they are from the show! Here in Greece we had the same show for 15 consecutive years with huge success but the hostess was one and a woman! I can see in France you need two men for that role. Her name is Vicky Hatzivasileiou and she is a law school graduate. Great lady! She did an amazing work. You can watch clips of the show here on you tube. Just search her name or pame paketo. I am sure something will come up. Many greetings and love from Greece to France! Â bientot!

This is very sweet and very romantic, with her emotions displayed for all to see. After re-watching this a number of times we realise that she secretly hoped that it would be him from the get go, and her face showed her anticipation increasing during the questions and tips. Her sheer honest delight when he is revealed is romantic magic at its best. Her playful sense of humor is delightful, and it is no wonder that he couldn't forget her and had to find her. Two beautiful people who deserve happiness with each other.

This reminds me very much of my best friend around age 8-9. I'm a brunette and he's a a darker blonde too. But it was my family that moved away and we lost touch about a year later. I remember at his 10th birthday party he was the first boy I said "I love you" to... and tbh he was the last (he also said it back, for anyone wondering lol). I haven't seen him in almost 30 years and I still miss him sometimes and wonder how he is. I think he got married and had at least one kid if the person I found on Facebook is him. Richard, I hope you're doing okay

I like that she was humorous saying that she had few fiancies and 5 children but deep down inside she never forgot about him and always wanting him back. At 10:31 she says that he's her first love then bit her lower lip, her tears of joy, and her hug says it all. You know what they say...if they leave, let them go. If they come back they'll be yours forever. I wish for these two to stay together and may they be happy for the rest of their lives.

@Zaros Derer well, first and last love, that could happen and has happened around the world. However, we don't live in a perfect world. Remember that their relationship started at a very young age and many things had happened in between those years apart that we don't know about as far as their relationships with other people. However, one thing for sure with these two, their feelings for each other hasn't changed. If they're still together, they have the will to love and continue that love they had since their younger days, to understand each other and move forward. Imo, this couple align with your comment if they stay together for the rest of their lives.
