Something you said once brought me to tears; besides your personal loss. You used the phrase "barn kitties"; which is how my grandmother generously described the feral cats that lived in their machine sheds only because she supplemented the mice they ate with oodles of canned cat food. Coyotes would occasionally start preying on her "barn kitties" and she eliminated those critters HERSELF in VERY short order with a varmint rifle grandpa bought her. Granny was a DEAD shot, too. I see a lot of her kindness and strength in you. Sending best wishes and good karma to you both!

I'm so glad you got to get that time to go hunting. My wife passed in 07 and it took me 7 or 8 years to get back to the world. I still have my grieving days and they just show up. Can't stop them. I never dated after she passed. I'm too old and broke up now anyway. Triple bypass and a very bad back. I'll be 70 in March. So I'm good just having my little apartment and watching you and Zach do your thing on the farm. You have no idea how much it means to me to see you grow and live a beautiful life with a really good man. I'm so happy for you. I've said enough. Just keep being you and I'll keep watching! God bless!

How did your last husband die ? I’m new to the channel but love following you guys. I am a farmer/rancher in Idaho, and have spent many hours in a combined harvesting wheat and in the tractor digging potatoes at about 2 mile an hour, so I really appreciate yard channel. It’s fun to have other farmers share of their daily chores in life.

That's really beautiful that you gave Cale a mention, that is honoring his memory and significance in your life. I recently lost someone very special, not a partner though, but not a day goes by without a special though of them. I'm sure you know what I mean. This might sound cheesy, but you are very inspiring with how you are handling what life has thrown you and how you are moving forward but also how you are displaying to all the incredible value that farmers are in our society and how that we all need that attachment to the land and what that partnership returns to us in terms of food.

If that tape measure had been an expensive tool, it would have been gone to the dirt Gods. I was a firefighter for 32 years. We could leave coffee cups on the tailboard of the trucks and they’d ride to and from a call without so much as a hiccup. Place a $4000 portable radio on the same tailboard and it wouldn’t make it past the first turn!

In a country like the USA, where you are coming to the end of autumn, and higher moisture is anticipated, do you have grain driers available to knock the moisture down a few percent? I know in Australia, the seed companies have large driers so they can harvest at higher moisture contents, then dry it down. 18% is pretty high. What percentage does the grain get rejected. Great to see the technology at work communicating between the harvester and bin. Good idea to reset every now and then, I might give it a try.
