@haircafekevin

Glad you liked the video! I guess you're referring to the fact that you lose your gains with minoxidil on the head if you stop it. Unfortunately we don't have a cure that can permanently reverse the underlying problem with the hair follicles of the scalp that causes androgenic alopecia. But that's actually true of almost all chronic diseases. If you have diabetes you can't just stop your medicine without getting into trouble. So I'd don't think I'd call that a dependency. It's not like some kind of drug addiction. As far as hope for stopping it in the future, well we'll have to wait until something better comes along.

@@AverageJak To be honest I have not studied much their mechanisms of action, like @Uncle Drew said p5p a coenzyme that is created in the liver from vit b6 and it has been shown to be efficacious in lowering prolactin (which contributes to gyno in predisposed subjects). DIM is a compound derived from the digestion of I3C (found in cruciferous vegetables). It's been shown to act as a very light aromatase inhibitor, but more importantly it changes the balance of estrogens towards 2-hydroxyestrone which is less active. Both are easily bought over the counter.

Hey, Kevin! Great vid as always. I just have a question: Could Stemoxydine help in hair thickening/growth, someone who’s anemic, due to the mimic of Hypoxia on scalp? If someone has Anemia, low Hemoglobin for example and so on, then the appropriate amount of oxygen it’s not reaching the cells. We know that the main mechanism of Stemoxydine it’s to mimic Hypoxia on scalp which leads to an increase of oxygen. So, this person it’s likely to get better results/benefit more from Stemoxydine? (Of course in combination with the other main treatments). Just a hypothesis/assumption. Thank you very much!

Hey Kevin, just wanted to say thank you for all the knowledge and content you've put out regarding hair loss. I have a specific question regarding my own case and I don't know who else to turn to. I was planning on beginning finasteride and minoxidil but have reserved thoughts due to the fact that I had developed Gynecomastia as a teen during puberty, I speculate this is due to the fact that I was obese. I'm 24 now and have lost a lot of weight in the last two years (300 pounds to 230 pounds at 6'4), additionally i've cleaned up my eating habits and only eat clean foods along with exercising frequently, and i've become very conscious about my health. I don't know if this even matters but I have a lot of body hair, and I read that maybe a indication of higher T levels which seems like a good thing when taking fin, but i'm not sure if it even matters. I still have my gyno from puberty and i'm concerned that finasteride may exacerbate it. I really want to better myself in regards to my hair but I just don't know where to go from here in regards to this issue. Thank you and I appreciate everything you do

I’m considering starting keto cream topically on my scalp because of its anti androgenic effects. Is this a good idea? Research on many treatments has also been delayed due to covid which is why we don't even have breezula yet. 2. Yes, would love to see a RCT comparing it to standard delivery but it looks promising. 3. I would sooner trust the cream than the shampoo since it stays on longer but I would never use it as my main anti androgen. Even as an adjunct other AAs like fluridil and alfatradiol have more research so I'd prefer them.

Sorry to say but there is no over the counter medication that is going to counter finasteride's sides. Great video man. I started with fin a month ago I want to see what fin can do to my hair before i start minox aswell. So my two questions are 1. Will fin fix the thin hair at the front? (I got pretty okay hair density but when i comb up my hair you can see my scalp) 2. Will my hairline thin and recede any further while i'm on fin or will i be fine? I really hope you can help me Kevin!
@trashbat7331
3 жыл бұрын
1. Only time will tell. As long as you still have the hair follicle you should be fine. Give fin a year then add minox if you feel like you need a boost. 2. Finasteride should halt or at the very least greatly reduce any further hair loss. Everyone is different but all you can do is try and give it time.

There isn't much research on it. There is an in-vitro study of cultured hair follicles and so I don't think there is enough data to really make any kind of concrete statement about it. The more recent study I have seen doesn't actually use pure L-carnitine, it is a mixture of several other different ingredients including zinc, amino acids, vitamins, etc. The results looked promising since there was a control group but the sample size wasn't that large and also being that the solution had way more than just L-Carnitine its hard to make any determination about that particular substance.

So it could potentially work for seb derm but I use a much higher concentration of 0.2%. Plus, who knows it might slow the onset of white hairs (as premature greying runs like crazy in my family).
