I feel you with the wind turbine situation, where I live here on the coast of Saaremaa, Estonia they plan also an enormous wind farm with turbines up to 300m (!). Untouched seashores at the moment and many migrating birds here, it's absolute insane if they would do this. Prayers and courage to you to stand strong :)

I noticed when my children were small that right after recovering from a stress (such as cutting teeth) they would make a jump so to speak in their abilities and maturity. If you suspect that fevers and illnesses are a detoxification process this seems to make sense. My dad was a dentist and he believed that the pediatricians were wrong to say that fevers have nothing to do with cutting teeth - that the physical stress to push teeth through the gums is huge. Parents of course have known this forever. Thank you for beautiful video. Love from Chicagoland.

Know that my heart goes out to the three of you, and of course Tova's family. It's must be so difficult to want to live the kind of life you do when you decide to choose peace and quiet and your simple life, then it is threatened. Do not fear being honest because lies and fabrications earn no respect, and we respect you all. Your humbleness and your ability to learn and teach yourself is what makes you who you are. I'm sorry that all this stress is impending on your ability to enjoy your days at the moment. You have a good sense of humor, Mathias. (-> the ‘black chicken moment‘) Tova too. And Ivar most probably too. One gets a back ache by merely watching you handle the rocks, the wheelbarrow and the earth… Concerning energy generation: the human mind is capable of finding the most marvellous solutions and adapting one's behaviour to new situations (e.g. using less energy and resources oneself which multiplies when many individuals do that), but unfortunately also of taking the easy road (finding out too late that it was actually not easy at all but created more severe problems). Thanks for showing us what a wind turbine really is. Looking forward to the video about windfarms. I hope there is a way of saving the trees around Tova's parents' fäbod.

I should have watched the whole video before commenting. I didn't hear about the threats you faced and I am sorry you had to deal with them. It's so hard; when you put your life out there for the public to see there is always going to be some idiot who thinks you need to conform to his (or her) way of thinking. I don't get that. I am supportive of renewable energy, but to say there is no problem with windmills is ignorant. There are ways to make them that reduces their impact on wildlife and there are ways to distribute them (like a small one on the house) that also makes more sense, but that isn't going to make money for any large corporations, is it? After doing the research, I decided on solar panels on my home, net metered to the local grid as the best way for me to have renewable energy, but even that is not going to get me off corporate power (80% off though!). When you live in a northern climate, we just don't get enough sun. It is a puzzle that needs thought and research to solve, but you are right, destroying the environment to save it doesn't make any sense. There are just some natural structures (and species!) you can't recreate after you have lost them. That's a very wise sentiment. I wish more people understood it. (Been a patreon subscriber since around episode 34 - you guys are one of only three channels I give money to - and you are certainly the one I would be least likely to drop.)

My favorite videos. The first thing I do when I see a new video is check the time, and the longer the better. However, I am thrilled with and appreciate whatever length of time you are able to give. I think the answer to most, if not all, environmental question or issues like this, is less consumption. I imagine it is heartbreaking when you think you have found your solution (homestead rural property and live with less consumption), and the machine still finds a way to encroach on your life and your dream. I hope this works out in your favor, but unfortunately, the problem will just be out of sight, not gone altogether. Thank you for sharing your hearts and lives with us. Wishing you all the best.

The greediness of some human beings is taking a toll on me too, because the decisions of the large corporations affect everyone and everything. Well done! And I appreciated your comments about criticism of the wind turbines and the reaction you received. I think one of the big problems today is the lack of comfort with the space between identifying problems and their solutions. The rush to agree on one path or another takes away from that space where creativity happens. I don't know what the solution is either to energy generation on a large scale, but that doesn't mean I can't or shouldn't have opinions. Personally, I live on a sailboat and we love our small wind generators. But these devices don't compare with the huge wind turbines you are talking about. I have no experience with those. All the best to your family!
