I love these guys! I wish I had been there. Our whole family was sad when Delbert retired.

Three of the great Texas harmonica players: Kim Wilson, Delbert McClinton and Mickey Raphael. I love all of Delbert's recordings, but some of my favorites are songs he's done with Bonnie Raitt and John Prine.

Living in Austin in the 80's was so cool. I have seen all 3 of these guys live many times. Jimmie Vaughn was in the Fabulous Thunderbirds with Kim Wilson. SRV would show up and jam with them.

I was so disappointed to hear that Delbert retired. His músic of course will live on, but I'll miss being able to see him perform live. He will always be one of my favorite singers

Semi-retired I'd say. I saw on Fb this week he was performing somewhere ahead of new CD release.

Why dissapointed? He gave us 6 decades of heartbreaking music. He's done his job. So what I have to say to Delbert: "enjoy your retirement, go out again with the "Sandy Beaches Cruises". You were always a role model for me and the best compliment I got was when a GI said to me: "there's a singer in the USA that sonds just like you".

Back in the '90s I booked a show w/ Mark Hummel opening for Little Charlie and the Nightcats. The encore was a "harp battle" between Hummel and Rick Estrin that went on for 20 minutes and brought the house down.

No Kris Kim Wilson is straight out of the motor City he's a Detroit native who made his way down to Texas Austin area back in the seventies. It's amazing all the people that come from Detroit and fanned out all over.
