The Ferrell rod in the buttcap design is a brilliant idea! I also have trouble holding onto the little ferrell rods and sometimes end up damaging my fingers. What a great solution! Great knife design! Cant wait to order one soon!🙏🏼

It's 5160, hardened to 58 on the Rockwell. It's distally tapered from the guard forward, from 1/4" thick, to about 3/16" at the start of the false edge.

i love your knives i bought a hollow handle from usa knifemaker is there any way you could ever do a making tutorial?

Hello, I don't know if I will ever do a tutorial on it, as they can be very time-consuming. But I believe they give some instructions on the usa knifemaker site about how to use the handle. Either way, on that particular setup, once you fit a guard to the blade, I believe all you have to is fit the tang to the threaded bushing, screw it into the handle, and then pin it in place, and pour in epoxy to give it extra security. I'm sorry if that doesn't help, or you already knew that, but feel free to message me, and I would be happy to help you out if you have any further questions. Thank you, Sam

Hi, that's a very nice knife.Great way to store a smaller blade and a sharpener. I just have one question, why is that some people say it's better to have a full tang knife rather than a hollow handle one ? Does it have any weak points in the handle ? I all ready suscribed to your chanel and your fb page. Great job.

Hi Survivor, and thank you for the compliments and support. As far as the difference between a full-tang and hollow handle knife, people sometimes get too hung up on the "ultimate" in strength. On any properly made hollow handle knife the blade will break before the handle separates from the knife. As far as weak points, I'm sure you've probably seen the videos where I do chin-ups and baton abusively with my knives. If you put your knives through half of that type of abuse, you probably don't need a knife, you need a demo tool with a sharpened edge, lol. So in my opinion, it really comes down to using the knife for it's intended purpose: to cut, chop, slice, carve, etc. on wood and other natural materials. If you do that, you'll likely never have any problems whether your knives are hollow handled, or full tang. Thank you again, and nice vids on your channel. If you ever have any other questions, please feel free to email me, and I'd be happy to answer them. Sam
