Wilt Chamberlain is truly an example for all Athletes to become. He is the Black Hercules destroying everyone, but lacked guidance to win championships. I truly love his plays. Keep in mind that the NBA was extremely strict on rules that we don't have to experience today. He had to play where you cannot push someone with your body like Shaq, as it would be an offensive foul. Even doing a crossover was called Palming (or Carrying) at the time when Wilt was in the NBA. Think of how he limited himself to play great games. If he had played in the 80's, he would dominate far more than in the 60's and early 70's

I didn't get to see Wilt play, or Kareem in his prime, but I totally agree with the other 3. I personally think the 80's was the physically toughest time to play. Players would get bodied on the court regularly. Wilt in his prime in the 80's he'd have been bodying players and blocking shots. I'm not sure that players today could survive the sport back then.

The Philadelphia Warriors moved to San Francisco, and Wilt went along with them in 1962. In 1963, the Syracuse Nationals moved to Philadelphia to become the 76ers, Wilt went back to Philly in 1964 to join the Sixers. Being that Wilt was already 7'1", it almost seems unfair that he also has a tie with Michael Jordan for the highest vertical jump in NBA history at 48". Wilt also had a max bench of 500, 7' 8" wingspan, and a 4.6 40 yard dash at 275 pounds.

I saw Wilt play as well as Kareem and Magic and many others and I would still put Wilt up there as one of the most talented and dominant people on the floor no matter what era. He could run better than most big men today, he could handle the movements of Anthony Davis or the Joker and he would still be bigger and stronger than most other players. AND, he would be on the floor playing not taking time off for injuries like some of the guys now. He was always in shape.

Wilt would get the ball on a free throw, go to the back of the free throw circle, run to the line and jump towards the hoop and with his vertical and arm length, would dunk the basketball. That is how and why they had to change the rule that no part of your body could go past the foul line on a free throw.

Everything Wilt did athletically was RAW, LITERALLY!!!! No technology, no computers, no oxygen masks when tired, was never spoiled, no computerized training, nor any other kind of technilogical machinery to enhace his athleticism. 97 Record from college to pros combined? NOTE: You can teach, train, coach a player anything, but can never teach HEART, and that's what Wilt had, HEART!!!!! He loved athletics so much that he'd fantasized it, hugged it, slepped with it, dreamed it, ate it, and married it. I was there🏀

Tex Winter (guy who invented triangle offense) saw Wilt dunk from the free throw line in practice. He was an opposing coach. He was influential with rules committee and convinced them they had to change the rule otherwise players would be dunking their free throws. LOL. Only one player could ever do that and it was Wilt. Jordan needed a full court run up. Wilt did it from 3 steps behind the top of the key. And that was in 1956/57 era. 70 years or so ago. That's how far ahead Wilt was.

Joker is the two time reigning mvp and torching the league nightly. You telling me wilt can’t even play in this era and a non athletic Center like joker is tearing it up? No disrespect to joker either he’s one of my favourites but just sayin c’mon now let’s get real. How you stopping him with todays defensive rules? Embiid is dominant? Wilt would you with dudes and hit the padding ability to kick out for the popular three ball of today. 60% of wilts shot attempts were fade away, so dude could shoot too

He rented space in Jordan’s and Shaqs heads. He intimidated both of them after the age of fifty. Shaq hates that people don’t think he’s better than Wilt. He would block the crap out of MJ and Wilt told him so. Wilt is the GOAT. People don’t realize how ridiculously athletic and strong he was. He jumped like MJ at 7 feet. He grabs everything with one hand. He is one of the greatest athletes of the modern era. Here’s another point he had a basketball player about Lebrons size come up to him mad like he was going to do something. Wilt picked him up and turned him around sat back down and said we ain’t having none of that. The problem just isn’t the same amount of footage on him.

No, ... he would take a running jump from the free throw line, and dunk his free throw shots. That's why they changed that rule, that you had to stay behind the line when shooting a free throw. They also made the rule, that an inbound pass from behind the backboard couldn't be thrown over the backboard, ... as Wilt would then just grab it, and slam it thru, ... no one could stop that. They also increased with width of the free throw lane, because of Wilt.

I see you guys are confused about the teams. The Philadelphia Warriors started in 1946. In 1962 they moved from Philadephia to San Francisco. In 1949 The Syracuse Nationals joined the NBA. In 1963 The Nationals moved to from Syracuse to Philadelphia because the Warriors left for San Francisco. They renamed the team the 76ers. During the All Star Game in 1965 Wilt Chamberlain was traded from the San Francisco Warriors to the Philadelphia 76ers. That's how he played in Philadelphia twice.

Wilt and Jerry west both were labeled losers with no context it’s absolute garbage. Bill Russell was able to win championships sometimes only averaging 9 points a game. Lebron got roasted for putting up a 8 point effort in a game in 2011 finals imagine had he averaged 9 points like Russell twice. Celtics we’re beyond a super team so it didn’t matter all while Wilt and Jerry West put up huge efforts to only lose. Even when Wilt got decent squad around him in 68 ecf he averaged 22 31 and 10 assists a game most likely had 8 to 10 blocks a game so he very well may have averaged a quadruple double. If u gave him a coach like Phil Jackson who knew how to use dominant players he’d be Damn near unbeatable. He could do anything he could give u 30 to 40 a game or he could give u 24 over 20 boards a game with 9 assists.
