My new X300 was damaged during a light storm on Thursday, October 5, 2017. I speed up the video, there was some wind, not that hard, in my opinion. When the time (topleft) is at 10:11:47 it's starts to break.
I'm not really sure about the wind speed, but it was something about 70-80km/h (+/- 9 Beaufort). I replaced it with a X-200. No problem since.

What was the wind speed and how long did it take to fail?

I think (not entirely sure) but it was 70-80km/h that night. I guess, during this storm, my antenna stack would have been resonated till the point, it snaps. According to the seller, the way I mounted these was correct. Probably something went wrong during manufacturing this antenna.

I've ordered one today, I hope it lasts. Does Diamond offer warranty with them? I mean it might be hard to stablish the wind speeds etc for a claim, just wondering.

@@joseico90 I think it will last. Many radio amateurs all over the world are using this antenna. I had only bad luck, I guess. Diamond offer warranty, (as expected) But claiming could be tricky. I made many pictures and videos during the installation. When mine snapped, I send a couple of these picture to my seller. So he could evaluate my case. Which lead to replacing (okay, I replaced it with, it's little brother the X-200)

@@ph7gis310 it is good that you had the CCTV footage. I've noticed in the videos that the two antennas that have snapped did so under stress of similar direction winds. Which makes me think whether the wind is getting compressed forming a vortex of high pressure when hitting the other wall behind. Just a thought..
