Seasonally, April through mid October (exact dates vary.) Admission is free for people who live in Holland! Below the visitor's map, you can see which flowers are in bloom. Peak bloom season (the best time of year to go visit) is the week of July 25th through the 31st. The famous annual Tulip Festival in May. Features 36 acres of the most beautiful scenic flower gardens, a children's garden and playground, and Dutch culture and attractions, with employees and tour guides that dress in traditional Dutch clothing and costumes. They are also one of the best places to have and host weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, and events. Post House gathering room and large Pavilion for large events. Historic hand operated Sluice Gate that was built in 1965, used for irrigation on the Macatawa River that goes into Lake Macatawa. Little Netherlands village, replicas of historical Netherland buildings and homes, and an authentic Dutch mailbox. Shopping stores and gift shops where you can buy Dutch foods and snacks, souvenirs, and wooden clog shoes, all sorts of different types of clogs. And the Little Netherlands historical exhibit. You can hear the Amsterdam Street Organ playing music in the park. It was a gift to Holland from Amsterdam as a thank you for liberating the Netherlands during World War 2. Antique 1900's Hand-painted, wooden Dutch Carousel. Wedding Gazebo and Dutch style draw bridge. Beware of the geese in the area! The most popular tourist attraction is the De Zwaan Windmill. How old is it? 251 years old! How tall/high is the tallest part of it? 125 feet! The origin of the name is Dutch, meaning 'The Swan.' It came from the Netherlands in May of 1965. Around the Windmill, you'll see old blades that were used from the 1900's until 2000. It was used as a lookout in the Netherlands during World War 2. If you look closely you can see bullet holes from that time. In the exhibits, they also have the history and story of De Zwaan in pictures/photographs.
