Filmed onboard 34839 (VU06 HZY)
I filmed this and the 48 to show what they’re like as routes, since I gather very few people (almost everyone that’s not a local) don’t know they even exist let alone what they’re like. I think they’re good routes for thrash and kickdown, with some lovely scenery and those that like Euro 3 Darts will enjoy the 46s (Swindon - Hungerford) and 48s (Swindon - Marlborough) via Aldbourne and Ramsbury
Best thrash section is Aldbourne to Ramsbury, then Ramsbury to Hungerford. But you might get extra thrash on the X46 version along the B4192, though I don’t know as I’ve not yet done it
The differences between the 46, 46A and X46 are as follows:
46 - via Foxhill and Baydon but not Wanborough, along the Baydon and Aldbourne Roads
46A - via Wanborough, Foxhill and Baydon, along the Baydon and Aldbourne Roads
X46 - express via Liddington Warren, avoiding Wanborough, Foxhill and Baydon using the B4192
The same principle applies to the 48/48A/X48
