This guy has that voice that would fit very well in a lord of the rings movie. Or James Bond type voice. I don’t know how to put it exactly. Jeremy irons’ voice is the same way.

I'm not in this industry, but I've been following his videos and I can tell you that $55 per hr is a steal! If you are an actor you really don't know how much of an opportunity you're passing up by not booking with John. You can't get a decent guitar lesson for that much and most guitar teachers teach below basic level to string your lessons out and separate you from your money.

I've listened to all his videos, many of them multiple times, taking notes, and I just LOVE the man! What a fine individual. Everything that comes out of his mouth is golden. When I have enough nerve, I will spend the $55 (OMG, what a steal!!!) to take an hour's class with him. Thank you, Sir, for offering all your YT videos at no charge. Blessings to you and yours.

Yes, and, of course, anyone can "love acting" - it just takes lots of work, and always knowing one can be better. There are people I've helped get into drama schools who now need to make sure they're the best actor there, and actors with major awards who should aim to work on something completely different now. And if we really want to hit the heights, and are ready to work night and day on it, then - oh heavens - there's Shakespeare! But simplicity comes first, I think. John Windsor-Cunningham

Perhaps you have had this question asked before, but I am a film director (only shorts under my belt so far). What should I do to work better with actors?
@NewYorkActingCoach
3 жыл бұрын
Easy. Use better actors. Any actor should be able and willing to work any way he or she is asked to do. So just ask them nicely and clearly. If they still don't do the scenes as you need them done, this may be due to their inexperience (which is why you need to advertise to see more actors), OR because you need to rehearse them, ( which many film actors are not used to). The experience of you yourself doing a play with some simple theatre group (even online) may help you understand more of what they 'go through' - or send them to an acting coach, and I'm not suggesting myself. If you google the words 'acting coach' you may find somebody experienced who lives near you. Or even book a session with me yourself, but not here. Use the website please. John Windsor-Cunningham

@@NewYorkActingCoach I truly appreciate your reply. I've begun to watch some of your videos and I feel like I'm scratching the surface a little deeper, to finding out what actors 'go through'. I cried unexpectly going through the 'acting realistically' exercise, something I haven't done in a while (crying). So this, perhaps through rigerous training, is how you guys cry on command. Subbed

Question for John Windsor Cunningham When did you decide to become an actor, and was there a perceived ideal actor! What should an actor be like? Is there still a societal expectation of what a good actor should be like? Is trying to fit into a mould a burden on the actor. Has that changed much? Over the years Or not at all?
@NewYorkActingCoach
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, ideas have changed, but the obligations of being an actor can't be discussed in a few lines. If you want help with a book, or with anything professionally, I can only suggest you try a coaching session with me. I don't normally push anyone to come to me, but I can't answer questions like yours seriously here. And please use the 'Contact' page on my website ( Windsor-Cunningham.com ) or my direct email ( jwcactor@yahoo.com ) - or, just read up on the subject yourself and form your own opinions maybe. Best wishes, anyway, John

Sir it's me again Sir according to me for evoking emotions or any intense situation best actors connect to the correct so deeply that they really feel the situation and it is easy for them to do the job then do you think this is true?
@NewYorkActingCoach
3 жыл бұрын
I don't think they "connect to emotions" - what they do is learn how to understand the lines in a deep way which CAN only mean certain feelings, then the feelings just happen because the actor knows what he is saying. I cannot give serious advice here. Go to Google and search for an acting-coach and classes. John Windsor-Cunningham

@@NewYorkActingCoach sir which means connecting to the character in a deep sense and everything they do in camera is absolutely real ?
@NewYorkActingCoach
3 жыл бұрын
@@vansh4383 Well - what the actor has to be 'real' ABOUT has to be discovered first, and a large amount of study of a script is usually needed to find out what the lines really mean, with the help of a director, and THEN to work out what meaning the lines have BEHIND that (as most things we say do) and THEN find some experience (or imagine one) which will enable the actor to perform it truthfully, as if it were them! But a better answer is that the actor simply has to do classes for years and get experience in order to LEARN how to do all this, EXCEPT for a part which happens to just suit them. Acting well is incredibly difficult. John Windsor-Cunningham

Would you please define “serious” actor? I am a young woman from nyc with no real experience in acting besides the time I played a munchikin in a school play in the 4th grade. & although it may not make much sense, if there’s anything I feel is right about my life, I know I want to be an actress. A serious actress. & I’d love if you could teach me to become what that means. More so than I already believe I am! I’ll be hoping to see your response here but I’ll take the initiative to email you as well! Thank you for your time in advance.
@NewYorkActingCoach

I will reply in more detail when I get your email, - all I mean by "serious" is that some people think that being an actor is easy, and they are not interested in working hard to be the one who succeeds at auditions. I do believe that acting should be 'fun' as well! John Windsor-Cunningham

If i want to be an "actor" no training heck dream to be on screen as extra but more of course. I find myself needing to change on intervies. But know i ask you because i think its true, should i just be me myself weather its calm or just me. Be me? And if the need my type of person or not accept it?
@NewYorkActingCoach

It really is impossible to give you any serious advice in a few lines here. If you do a session on Skype with me I would know what you need to learn and what kind of 'type' you might even get acting-work playing now, at the same time as showing you the amount of study that is needed. So use the 'Contact' page on my website or my direct email jwcactor@yahoo.com, but all you may need is to go on a google 'search' for cheap classes in the area you live in you may find others of your age meeting online to read scenes, and learn what you need to there.
