Here's a video from 5 years ago in which I'm dealing with the effects of the wind in the greenhouse kzitem.info/news/bejne/0m2sl31ufWVzdG0

Your channel just got a new fan. Serious self-sufficiency on KZitem America almost doesn't exist anymore. They mostly contain drama, freak shows, political doomsday statements and sloppy morning TV. Glad I found the channel of yours.

I love the idea of making different rooms within the garden - creates a bit more excitement and entices you to explore. Thanks Liz for all the wind reducing ideas!!

Just what I needed! My house and garden are in a village, but there’s so much wind! The shape and size (1/10 acre) of the plot, and land planning regulations, means that I’ve been pondering over where to place windbreakers. Also I planted a skyrocket 2 years ago and it only seems to be waking up this year, it may have grown let’s say 5-10 cm? 😂 but the trunk has thickened healthily during that time. Love your work Liz.

Interesting to watch, at times for me it's a real battle with the winds we get. Nice idea with the angled fruit trees

My son and daughter-in-law live in the middle of wind farms so when you said that’s an indication that it’s windy area made sense. So they would should be able to benefit from your advice.

I love how you share your ideas on caring for the wildlife. I find myself gardening as much for them as for my own family.

Really great tips, I’d never sleep with all that wind I’d be so worrying about things blowing away! Thanks Liz!

I live on a horribly windy hill, it can be very frustrating when all the plants are bending in the wind with tattered leaves. Slowly working on resolving the problem. I've had the wind push over outbuilding 😱.

Predictions are that it isn't going to become less as time goes on, so I'm doubling up/down the wind breaks!

Great video, Liz. Dead hedges are another good wind barrier - and a great alternative to chipping or burning tree prunings.

Hedges “lean” due to wind-pruning the buds on the upwind side…so the buds tend to grow on the downwind side…but your fruit tree planting idea should work with this.😀😀😀Jinxy

hi Liz. Fabulous, interesting video as always. Thank you. Can you answer a question that has been puzzling me for some time. When a plant needs 6-8 hours sunshine a day, does that mean in winter or sum\er? (June-July). I have tried yo find the answer in gardening books but havsn't been successful. Thank you so much :-)

For wind stoping, people usually use trees, not fabric netings. I hope you not repeated the mistake with the fabric mulch....
