Ok, all the haters and those who "know better". Unless you train in that style how can you "know better"? The philosophy behind this type of fighting is what makes the difference. Speed, accuracy, power. In wing chun you react with speed to block, counter and strike with precise accuracy and power not swinging and hope you hit. I've been fortunate to have learned a little of this and how to use it in a real fight along with other things I've learned along the way that includes boxing and judo. Watch carefully, his hands, position of feet, shoulder direction, as in how he keeps that center line controlled while blocking and striking. Although, a continued explanation is gonna be a book long, find a reliable teacher and then add to what you already know, instead of just hating.

This video makes sense to me: kzitem.info/news/bejne/s66im6mhhXZ6doI. Trapping exists in real fights, but it's fast and simple. Best is to look at those wing chun movements as drills to learn to see punches coming and develop fast and intuitive responses. Developing technique, just like how they do drills in boxing. But if you mistake those drills for how a fight plays out, you're gonna be in for a unpleasant surprise. Also they say not to go looking for a trap in a fight, but that it will come in the right moment if you've trained it enough. I believe pressure testing through sparring is required to develop realistic self-defense. Plus, learning to 'weather the storm' to be able to hold your own in a real fight. Like Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Boxer George Foreman held out his hands to block off incoming punches. You'd think that would leave you more vulnerable to hooks but he used it very effectively. Of course in that scenario the big boxing gloves cover a lot of space.

The laboratory is important to use different martial questions ... And wing chun answers...we found you might be in the middle of a trap or some chain punches and all the sudden you're on your back from a Jiu-Jitsu move... You have very fast hands hopefully this will help you out.

How many wing practitioners have u seen deflected punches in the real world. So far the only one that works best are boxing, taekwondo, and jujitsu. Don’t need to fight anyone to know this.
