Having Paul Taylor back, with his keyboard inflections, has literally made a world of difference, and in the best way possible.

Haunting,slightly progressive, poignant lyrics, incredible vocals, musicianship, and a tasty guitar solo. Amazing that the band that brought us " Seventeen" is giving us fans this type of quality material 30 plus years later,

Perfect video for a perfect song. Must have listened to this over 20 times so far and it STILL has the same high-emotion impact as the first listening. SOOOOOO good. A couple of folks had uploaded 1min samples of each of the 12(13) songs as 1 (audio only) video. These were made private a few days after uploading - probably after requests from the band or record company. I'd listened to them maybe a dozen times before they were restricted - so trust me - this is up there with "Pull" and "Karma" - not a filler on the list (which is why my vinyl preorder was placed as soon as I heard it!) Roll on May 5th for when every complete track will likely be made available here.

This bands music is so intelligent and unique compared to bands of its same era. There’s a reason they are still around and writing music such as epic as this. Reb Beach never disappoints and puts great finishing touch on this track.

When I first heard proud desperado, I said to my mates that it's currently song of the year. I just love everything about it....now I have a new favourite for this year. My goodness me, how good was that. I actually can't believe how brilliant that song is. 🎉🎉 Top 2 songs of 2023 from one band ...I guess my anticipation is not high for this album😂😂

Love your page. And yes winger is absolutely one of the best 80s bands still writing and performing to date. They continue to get better and better. And unfortunately they've never received the credit they've deserved. Kip and reb together was meant to be. There two voices and mix of voice and guitar and just magic. Can't wait till the album drops. And can't wait for more vids from you.

Truly epic - May go down as one of their best songs ever? Time will tell. Hard to put into words what to say about Reb's solo - He made the guitar talk, just pure genius. This could be the album of the year if they keep this up - I also think its cool they brought the old Winger logo back for this record, album cover is cool.

Great reaction! Love that Reb Beach 2nd solo! About the best solo... I don´t know man... Blackbird solo is great, but my top would be Comfortably Numb (The Pulse version), Tornado of souls and Stairway to Heaven. Those solos I think deserve more the #1 place, just my humble opinion though. Cheers from Colombia!

🙀 Like you said "a great band and always have been". You can tell this is true just by the Song Writing alone. And Kip's voice keeps getting better and better while the rest of the band continues to improves with age. By looking at their latest releases, their legacy still inscribes versatility. And while they are multi-talented musicians, if you don't pay attention to the lyrics of this song, then you are missing out. If you like this track, then you should give a listen to "Songs from the Ocean Floor" and "From the Moon to the Sun".

I dunno about this one. The chorus is catchy. I like the 'epic' feel of the song. The mid-solo is melodic, but a bit of a letdown. Reb's outro solo is MUCH BETTER. I'm a guitarist myself and I love Winger's first three albums, so the second solo is what I listen to this band for.

I think that’s what makes Reb Beach so special. He can burn it up with the best of em , but he plays for the song and always puts melody ahead of the shred .

@@mattmacarthur520 Oh definitely. I just prefer his crisp early tone to the softer tone of these days.
@mattmacarthur520

@@TimWells his tone? You mean the production probably then because Reb has used to the same gear for basically 40 years . Simple and straight up for the most part . Emgs and marshalls in the early days and now I believe he uses surh custom audio amps instead of marshals but he’s alway used EMG pickups . I know what you mean though dude !! I love the sound of his solos and rhthyms on the first record especially, his tone on headed for a heartbreak is to die for 🎸👍

We already talked about the song. Full respect for all that adore and like everything that Winger do. For me Winger is and has always been 50/50. Certain songs belong to some of the all-time-classics for me, and then there’s this other half that I just simply don’t like because of odd melodies, strange bridges or chorusses that sound like a simple kids melody. Here again, both singles don’t really do it for me, while I know from the snippets that there are other songs that I will really like. So, a couple more weeks to go for ‘my’ Winger songs of the new album.

"Kids melody" is where you lost me. Not every song can have the great adult "She's Only Seventeen" type lyrics I guess.
@ralphthurm8258
Жыл бұрын
@@pas6856 we can all characterize or interpret how we think about melodies or chorusses, but when they sing ‘proud desperado’ it sounds like a kid’s melody to me. In the same way ‘Sweet Seventeen’ isn’t an ‘adult’ melody. The questionable text of that song much more turns me off.
