Winter Banana seems to be a growing very vigorous (8-9 feet in 10 months) on my Seedling Rootstock, here in Jamaica.

I haven't done it myself but apparently Winter Banana can be used as an interstem for grafting pear onto apples. IE: apple rootstock -> winter banana -> pear.

Yes, pear will graft directly to pacific crab also. So will quince

Maybe the banana flavor develops as it ages? (I've never grown Winter Banana. But I grow Hudson's Golden Gem & it develops a strong banana taste & smell, but only during storage.) I wonder if Winter Banana is like that, too ...... the name certainly suggests it.)

Thanks to your previous video on this variety, I obtained scions and grafted on rootstock and another apple tree. It has grown to over 100 cm. Maybe in 2025 it will bear fruit for me. Greetings from Poland

Wow, 19 degrees already! How’s your greenhouse holding up? You trying avocados again?

I’m giving up on avocados, my greenhouse is too tall and can’t hold enough heat, going with figs, satsuma mandarins, and Aprium in there now

I love the smell of Winter Banana but it’s a bit mealy for my preference. I use these for apple butter because of the smooth texture.
