Seems like forever! I was just talking to my friend Chez Serge a couple days ago. He bought a loaf of my bread and was taking it home to do what you did. I’d never heard of thought of the idea before. Looks super good! WOW! Thanks for the video. Props to the awesome videographer for catching all the action 🤠🦊🏍👍🏻

I’m so happy to see a video from you two! You’ve been missed! I love your new stove, and I always love to hear the snap & pop of the fire. Once we are safe from fire danger, I plan to make some cooking fires. So for now, I will watch and listen to yours! Blessings to you both!

So happy for your new content… my favorite channel - No hype, no agenda! Just pure creative outdoor cooking joy in the wilderness, which should get at least one “Outdoors Michelin Star”… in my opinion. I’m four weeks post major shoulder surgery on my dominant arm, I’ll leave the details out, but what was supposed to be at 1.5 hour surgery turned into three hours. Surgeon: 6 to 8 weeks in a sling, physical therapy for months, and projected 6-12 month to normalcy. I just received my (Kickstarter) “Firebox Freestyle Stove” a week ago from Steve… and can’t even use it… so sad. So no kayaking, camping, or Fireboxing for me for now. So now, I vicariously find my outdoor experience through “Kettle Cooking” - Really look forward to your content.

Hi Larry, Sorry to hear about your shoulder- what a rotten turn of events (especially rough with a new stove to try!). Hope the healing and physio land on the shorter end of the projected recovery window. We’ll do what we can to keep content coming. Really lovely to hear from you. Thank you for the kind comments. Take good care! Cheers!

Super poetical video and yummi homemade chai, interested in how you toasted spices before pouring water. A big hug from the alps!

Thank you for your kind comments. Glad to know you enjoyed the adventure. The spices are warmed for a few minutes in the dry kettle over heat to help them release their oils. Keep the spices moving so they don’t burn but just warm up. Then add the milk which has fat - the fat absorbs the flavour released from the spices. This needs to just simmer (not a boil) for a quite a while, then add the water and the tea leaves. If the liquid is not too hot, it can sit and steep for a long time. It is a game of patience to get the best flavours 😋. Thanks for watching! Cheers from 🇨🇦!

Hello my friends, so glad to see you again. I’m always hungry once watching your videos and this one looks especially tasty. Thanks for sharing. Which victorianox knife works best for you?

H, i thanks a lot! I like the Hercules for when I’m out in the woods and the SwissChamps in the city. They both have the saw, scissors and pliers. For me those are critical. The Hercules is a little bigger 111 mm vs 90 mm for the SwissChamp. They both have a. Similar width which feels comfortable in my hand. The Hercules has a lock on the blade and flat screwdriver which I turned Into a spoon knife/ chisel. ( safer since it locks) I also changed the scales for the black scale with clip. It just needs a slight mod to fit perfectly. The Swisschamps carries well with a belt clip ( Victorinox of course 😊). For what you get , the SwissChamp is tough to beat. It comes in different colours and we can take on the plane. I equiped both knives with firefly ferrorod and firestarter. I also have the Victorinox Evolution S52, which is smaller (85mm) saw, scissors, pliers and belly fish type of blade (lock as well) I really love my Victorinox lol Take care Take care

Hi Alan, The axe came from Toronto Blacksmith: if memory serves it is a Viking Camp Axe weighing around 1.2 lbs. You are right … it is a bit like a carving axe. Thanks again for your kind comments and for watching! Cheers!
