I ran in -22F definetly got bragging rights! I keep it short though only 2 miles for now to be on the safe side. Slowly ill go up to 3 miles cuz the snow really does make it 10x harder since it makes you feel heavier and have to use extra power

I much prefer winter running now that I've done it for 3 months. There's something about having to mentally prep yourself for the cold and knowing that if you don't run, you'll be cold. Moreover there's clear research around how winter running can improve EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), meaning that it improves metabolic parameters more than you'd otherwise get from warmer temp running.

Hi David, you're so right about the mental aspect of running in the cold! Totally agree. I definitely like it as well; I just wish we had more cold days down here haha. Good to know about its EPOC benefits too. Thanks for watching and chiming in - happy running!

Running in cold high elevations where I live I have realized have strengthened my lungs and made me breathe a lot easier in other elevations, I went to footlocker in California a couple months ago and in California I can run so easy and recover a lot quicker because of me building up lung strength in Utah
@JeremyTri

That's awesome man! Good on you for building up your lung strength in not only cold weather, but also elevation. The highest elevation here for "hill training" is a bridge over the intracoastal 😂 Keep up the strong work!

I am tempted to poke at 50 degrees being a cold run for you but I would take an early morning run in a -20 blizzard over whatever you have to deal with from Florida's heat and humidity.
@JeremyTri

Lol! -20 blizzard that’s intense 🤯 but yes the heat and humidity down here is rough too 🥵🥵 I need to experience a winter like yours and really compare the running conditions!

50degree 😂😂 bless you mate, we get that in autumn, right now its been 36degrees for the last week and will get colder. You're right though, running in the cold is awesome, cant beat it when you run and the ground is covered in frost

Lol! Wow, 36 degrees, that sure is a rarity down here haha. I only run in those temps when I visit the more northern states or Europe 😄 Wishing you an amazing 2021, my friend! Keep at it!

Hey Jeremy I feel your pain about running in heat humidity ! I live in Georgia by South Carolina border and summers are miserable here, and if the temperature does happen to be only around 89-90 for the high the humidity in morning is always 95-97 percent! And makes your long runs feel like your running in slow motion. I have to take 2 shirts to change in during my long run, humidity is always 95 percent morning. I’m hoping by fall October I’m a lot faster it is rough, 9 minute paces feel like 7 min paces
@JeremyTri
Жыл бұрын
Wow, I didn't know the summers in your area get that hot and humid as well! It definitely makes you feel slow and heavy. I can't wait for the cooler temps as well...it will be a nice treat when our paces drop lol. Happy running!! 🙌🏽

I don't mind the temperature, but the wind can put a damper on things. Ice, however, and not being able to get a footing is the worst.

Anyone else’s lungs/ throat get super hot running in the cold ?
@JeremyTri
3 жыл бұрын
Hi German! It doesn’t happen to me enough to notice, but I’ve read it’s possibly because your body tries to humidify the cold, dry air before it gets to your lungs. Staying hydrated, taking deep breaths, and wearing a neck gaiter to “pre-warm” the air you’re inhaling might help. Good luck, and I hope running in the cold gets better for you! 🙌🏽

I love cold running (0-20F). But to be fair, when you go down to Florida, you gets used to the heat fast. After 85F, 55 F nights feels cold. Also, running in the heat is so much more difficult. I wouldn’t be able to be a runner in Florida.
@jasonharris996

@@JDMimeTHEFIRST true. The humidity is definitely a killer for me but that usually pays off with faster times in the Fall! As much as I wouldn't mind some Florida weather (and no snow) right now, I'm glad we get to enjoy running through seasons!

@JeremyTri
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jess! I actually just use $25 sunglasses from Amazon :D If you search "X-TIGER Polarized Sports Sunglasses" on there you'll see the ones I wear. I'd say they're styled more for cyclists, which is why they might look a bit weird (or cool, depending on your taste), haha. They fit great and don't bounce when running. A lot of people like Goodr sunglasses for running, but those didn't do too well on my nose. Good luck on the search!

Bro! KZitem Studio -> Customization -> Branding -> Video watermark - here's where you'll add an icon of your choosing. I had to do a little editing in Canva to get the icon I got. I still think I can make it a little better, but it'll do for now lol. Btw, been meaning to binge on your new channel soon, keep it up over there! 💪🏽

Hey man, do you have any suggestions for roadbikes around 500usd?
@JeremyTri
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerard! Since I haven't been in the market for bikes lately, I can't say off the top of my head any bikes for 500USD. Back in 2014 though, I was looking for my first road bike in this price range. What helped me was going to my local bike shop and seeing what they had there - there was a brand new 2013 Giant Defy 5 that was on sale for around $500. In my opinion, if you're looking for an entry level road bike just to get into cycling, you can't really go wrong with getting one of the "big name" brand (Giant, Specialized, Trek, Felt, etc.) bikes that are fairly new. Check out your local bike shop and Craiglist, Offerup, FB Marketplace, etc. too - you can usually find some steals there. If you haven't seen it already, I also did a video titled, "Beginner Triathlon Bike on a BUDGET - 5 tips to buy a BUDGET triathlon bike", which could help point you in the right direction as well. I hope this all helps - Happy Holidays and thanks for your question!
