Big day, Chuck, and not just for winter. Great tip on the heavy gauge wide gap too.One of best things about having a great day is it allows you to experiment. Laughed when you swung the stone fly, hooked up and said something like “...no way!”. Good stuff.
@Brownsylvania

That's so true. A lot of times when you catch a lot of fish right off the bat you feel fulfilled and are more inclined to experiment. The truth is though, we should probably be experimenting more on the days that aren't going well. haha Yeah, I couldn't believe it worked just a few casts later and especially because I was swinging it pretty fast, almost like a streamer. Thanks for watching!

Hey Chuck, Your stuff is some of the best my man. I appreciate the compliment, but you are equally as good if not better. Love your videos and variety of content. The edits and thought that goes into planning your theme of the video is always top notch. Good luck explaining in this video. I enjoy commentary too. A lot of people can catch fish. Can they figure out WHY and explain it to others. That is not easy. Thanks for sharing buddy!

@Brownsylvania
3 жыл бұрын
Yup. Backing > about 50ft Amnesia > tippet ring > tippet Been using this setup for 3 years now and love it. To be honest, I actually think it is. It's soooo light and I love click reels because they just work and don't burn out.
@wvbrookchub

One more question. Assuming you are in PA, when fishing fly fishing only streams how long do you make your leader? Do you use a full 18 feet or do you try to keep some fly line out of the end of the rod to keep the knots from hanging up on the guides?
@Brownsylvania
3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I don't fish fly fishing only sections often, but if I do, then yeah I just use a rig with fly line and 18ft of Amnesia.
@anthonyb1661

Hate to possibly high jack a post, but if looking for a reel for mono rigging on 10’ plus rod, I searched long and hard and as as budget guy, found the full frame, no line “pull through” , solid drag, Loop Q for about $115.Used it a couple times and although my Larson Konic is older than my kids, the Loop Q is likely to takes its place when mono rigging.

@@wvbrookchub the 18 foot leader rule doesn’t exist anymore (I believe). Last time I checked the fly fishing only sections regulations it wasn’t listed there

what is euro nymphing im new to fly fishing
@Brownsylvania
3 жыл бұрын
It's a style of nymphing where instead of using an indicator/bobber to detect strikes from fish you use long, lightweight monofilament leaders to keep tight to your flies so that you can feel the strike or see the line move for the strike. Welcome to the fly fishing community as well! You're in for a life changing ride.
