JUST CURIOUS: How are you filming yourself on your motorcycle…separated and from behind? I don’t see any extended rod or arm. Surely this is not a drone (what do I know?). Not important but I really enjoyed this journey (albeit vicarious). You are a splendid storyteller and videographer!

One of my close friends from high school died trying to solo summit a mountain (Mt. Baldy). He had just gotten accepted into MIT and had his whole life in front of him. So I've never had the guts to solo hike and summit a mountain myself. But thanks to people like you who film and share their amazing experiences doing it, I still get to see what it's like. What an unreal video.

Solo experiences in complex terrain have an incredibly high risk factor. Sorry for the loss of your friend! If you still want to give it a go I’d recommend finding a local area that you are familiar with, the terrain is what could be defined as “simple” and obviously taking a friend is always a good call too : )

Living in Oklahoma, it's never about cold or snow. It's all about the wind. I once did some summer camping out by Canton Lake. I stayed in a campsite behind the dam. The campsites were full of tall trees that stuck above the height of the dam and the rustling of the leaves would keep you awake all night long even though there was no wind at your level. I tried a little biking while I was there but it was hard as you had to lean at nearly a 45 in order not to fall over.

Damn Levi, I'm happy for you. One day I hope we meet. Although different circumstances, I spent COVID-19 lockdown in India for over 4 months and it was a turning point for me to settle down and find "home." You mention making videos to encourage people to get outside and that resonates with me. Every errand I do now is with my bicycle, I'm teaching my girlfriend how to be comfortable riding around too, and trying to find a settled place with these past huge adventures along with the beauty of everyday life. Like always, beautiful film.

This video illustrates just how quickly conditions can change. This is why, even if you only intend to be out for a day hike, you should carry an emergency pack with some sort of shelter. It can mean the difference between living and dying.

Broooooo, holy shit man. This content is fucking 🔥. Not only is the editing and camera work SUPER slick and engaging, but I super appreciate your thoughtfulness and authenticity in sharing. I think everyone (whether they know it or not) has a deep desire to learn about themselves and to continue to grow, and having someone who can openly express what’s going on internally in a way that’s not only very articulate and interesting, but also very non-judgement and in fact cheerful, is HUGE. You said in in the video that one of your big goals in making videos is to get people to get outside more and I want you to know you are 100% accomplishing that. Before the video was over, I found myself starting to brainstorm and dream about the ways I’d like to be outside more and push the limits of my comfort zone more. Super inspiring my dude, keep up the amazing work 🤙🏻

I'm not one to critique other people doing adventurous things. But given the chosen camp area makes a fire impossible, I think you need a lightweight stove or heat source to help warm up the inside of the tent, and if nothing else, to help dry equipment. Having an ability to dry wet boots is a huge morale booster. And a light stove/heater expands cooking abilities. Always take good care of your feet!!!
@Levi_Allen

you can't really "warm up the air" inside of a normal tent. You need a hot tent for that. And there is no world I am carrying a hot tent solo to the summit of a mountain.

Im a bit of a hiker in the UK. No snow just wind and rain, but it would have been unsafe to press on. I saw the weather coming at me, so I had time to set up. I spent 3 days hiding under a 4m x 4m tarp waiting for the weather to clear so I could continue. Always pack extra for the 'it wont happen' moments, you never know when you'll need it.

Great hike! I have to say, I was grimicing over your whole feet/boot situation. I've been winter camping since I was in my mid-teens and did a 30 cold weather survival training event in WI during January and February when I was in the Marines. You did the best you could given the almost cartoon like events surrounding your feet! I'm glad it worked out for you but wow! talk about a bad combo of things that went wrong for your poor feet! You pushed the edge a bit too close for me. Heel blisters in wet, cold boots is a recipe for disaster and could have turned an overnighter in to survial situation so fast it is scary. Glad you came out ok my man! I'd suggest more pairs of socks and heat warmers next time just for safety sake, and I would have relocated to a lower, more protected elevation in order to have a small campfire and a way to dry your boots and keep you feet warmer. Also, a pair of camp booties for you feet would be a great addition! I don't mean to sound negative and you did the best you could have given Mother Nature's little storm. Great video all around.

Ok Levi, Spill it.. How are you getting those shots? You had a shot like someone was following you. Then you have like i dunno 5 setup shots that recorded your arrivals to different places. So if you doing this all alone, that means that shot where it looked like you were being recorded from a mile away meant you had to go set that shot up yourself. Meaning you drove a mile, set up a camera and then drove back a mile so it looked like you were arriving to that area.. Dude if thats what you are doing then friggin hats off do you for your production value man! It aint no joke! But i ask you this. Off topic. Ever wondered why natural beauty can be so shocking? Good lord those shots were giving me goosebumps! You never really appreciate stuff like that till your older and you realize how rare and precious it all is. Great stuff bud!!

Next time if you happen to have the convenience of a rock wall use it by placing a very stout tarp across the top to protect your tent on the inside of the wall from a wind coming across the top of the wall.If you have a big hole on top of the tent otherwise known as the sky then you are still not protected from the wind. Your tent frame will take tbe brunt of the storm.

I have watched hundreds of great outdoor camping video’s in the winter, before, during, and after a winter storm, I watched them build shelters, campfires, beds etc. but what I have never seen is anyone build a latrine (toilet). They don’t have to demonstrate using it, but at else show that you have one, or some new modern day method designed for camping. No one can go three days camping without relieving themselves, its part of life, human nature, nothing to be shamed about.
